I think you played this hand too passive. When you say he was solid I'll assume thats tight aggressive? When a solid player makes a small raise from the SB, knowing he is going to out of position the rest of the hand, he is usually going to have a big hand there. Just look at his raise, 2 people limp, and he makes it $0.75. That raise doesn't look like its designed to fold anyone. It looks alot more like he wants action. AK might, but probably doesn't make this play. More likely AK tries to fold a couple of you and get the pot heads up, not price everyone in laying atleast 3-1 odds. Tha

Top Set On A Coordinate Board
Ricer98 replied to Ricer98's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
From the hands I posted yes, he was taking this line about 1 once an orbit in a hand and getting away with it. I made 3-4 fairly tight folds against him before the AJ hand where I decided he can't alway be pushing big hands. Either way, I did raise the flop because of the reason someone else mentioned that I had slowplayed the nuts less than 10 hands earlier and wanted to mix up my play. Since the thought did cross my mind during the hand just thought I would bounce it off others. -
Top Pair Top Kicker And No Reads
Ricer98 replied to Money022's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
If UTG shows up with top two or a set here after check calling twice while 4 people are in the hand I would be extremely extremely shocked. His play is much more consistant with a Q10 type hand as was mentioned earlier. CO would just about have to bet the turn with anything that flopped big after we checked. Playing for a check raise with only one player to act behind, who had simply called down so far not showing any actual strength, would be a very optomistic play on his part. As far as the buttons range I think it includes either a draw or a K with a weakish kicker. If he had a big han -
Top Set On A Coordinate Board

First off, if this guy flopped a flush, hes getting my money every time unless a 4th club hits the board. He has show that he overplays hands on a consistant basis, I want to use that against him. Lets look at two senarios of the different plays I could take in this hand.Raise the flop: With his bet my pot sized raise would be $3.15 on top of his bet, so $4.20 total. Say he calls, pot is not 4.20 + 4.20 + 1.05 = $9.45. No club on the turn, I bet $9.45 into him, he calls, pot is $28.35. Now, lets say a club hits the turn, he fires , I'm forced to fold. Taking this line with a club hitting -
Top Pair Top Kicker And No Reads
Ricer98 replied to Money022's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I'd only be worried about KJ or 66 here as JJ or KK are reraising you the majority of the time. 33 calling the flop is bit of a stretch but I guess could happen. I like checking the turn to see what action developes, as any bet would commit us to the pot. We'd basically just have t push if anything with only $40 left and the pot at $35. Checking might give off a free card, but lets a worse hand bet that wouldn't be calling a push. Wow, its hard to fold top pair top kicker getting 5.5-1 odds on the turn. UTG has to be on some sort of draw or weak pair hand to be check calling twice. Also -
After two weak bets I call the river since were getting just over 4-1 odds. I'd say we probably have the best hand 1-4 times. If not, we get info of what he cold calls two raises with out of position. It smells to me like a med to big pair. I think if he cold calls with a big A here he probably going to bet the flop or more on the river. No reason to bet so weak with AQ or AK after it was checked around on the flop. Two weak bets here seems like a monster trying to get paid or a hand like JJ or QQ thats afraid of the A, but since no one bet the flop is taking stabs.

Then I have an easy fold, letting the villian get there for free. The majority of the time a club doesn't hit though I have position on a very aggressive player. Who, I have a strong feeling is going to keep betting into me from past experiences. At which point, I make a pot sized raise and force him to put in more money with what I suspect is a worse hand a vast majority or the time. If I raise the flop I allow him to put less money into the pot to see the river. Thats my logic. -
Top Over And 2nd Nut Flush On Turn
Ricer98 replied to NoBBiR's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I like it. After you retake the lead on the flop checking the turn seems a bit weak. 1/3 of your stack is allready in at this point so I'd say go with it. We don't need to force a fold very often here to come out ahead against just a pair of jacks. -
I've been at the table for a little over an hour now. I am playing very very LAG, raising every other hand at one point. The table was extremely tight 3 handed, and since filling up I am getting a ton of action. The villian is UTG and is starting to play aggressive in attempt to counteract my own. We tangle in two big hands before the hand in question. Definetly look into the 6 max games on UB. I started playing them in late april with good results. I don't have pokertracker but just keep an excel spread sheet on my results. After 11500 hands i'm currently running at 25.97 bb/100. All I've been doing is just playing loose aggresive in position and hardley ever play pots out of position. As far as your stats, like I said I don't have poker tracker so I'm not experienced with it. But, it kind of looks like you might be playing too many hands / marignal situations? Your voluntarily putting money into 19% of pots and making it to show down

Top Pair, Top Kicker Facing Possible Flush
Ricer98 replied to Syntonic's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
My range does include a made flush, I didn't think I had to mention it because the whole thread is about does he have the flush. My point was given the range of hands he bets on the turn we are losing to a flush, or a slowplayed bigger hand. I discredit a slow played hand by the instant call. Most players that flop a big hand are not going to insta-call when slow playing it. They stop and think because they know they have a hand that can be raising with their just not sure if they want to yet. When they have a hand that they think might be good, like top pair weaker kicker or a draw, they -
I want to add I'm not totally ruling these hands out, just saying they are unlikely given the action.Lets say the villian was slow playing something. Why does he lead out on the river then? Unless I think hes bluffing I can't call without the straight. Why would he bet two pair or a set there knowing I can't call unless I have a hand that beats him. He would have to be making a fairly deep level of thought play of thinking I won't give him credit for the straight, and knowing I couldn't have the straight from my actions to be betting a set or two pair for value here. Now since I highly do

Top Pair, Top Kicker Facing Possible Flush
Ricer98 replied to Syntonic's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I'm still not sold about this hand so I'm going to write some thoughts for calling to open up the discussion. The villians insta call on the flop tells me one thing, he is weak at that point. Then we check to him on the turn and he makes a weak-ish less than 1/2 pot sized bet. The range of hands he can bet at this point is huge. Any king, any pair 88-QQ, 2nd pair with a club draw, any big club. A hand as weak as A7 might even bet here. For all the villian knows we made a contiunation bet with air on the flop and gave up. On the turn our hand looks alot weaker than top pair top kicker. On t -
OMG, brain fart of the year. Totally overlooked that overpairs were still beating me because of the 88. I saw that I made two pair and actually thought I took the lead, even up until just now. Yeah, easy fold now.

Throwing Rope (sh) (5/10)
Ricer98 replied to CobaltBlue's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I think assuming the villian puts him on a A to have called the turn may be alittle too tight of a range. Med to large pairs might take a check/call line simply for pot control or to allow a worse hand to bluff. While, still probably assuming to have the best hand after not getting repopped preflop or on the flop. I could possibly also see a suited connector type hand that picked up a flush draw just check calling every now and then, since they couldn't stand much of a raise on a fairly dry paired board. I wouldn't expect this all the time though as most players at highers limits are more -

25nl Facing Reraise On Non Scary Turn
Ricer98 replied to the_moil's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I agree with the last few post that from and aggressive villian we could have best hand a high percentage of the time. I don't like shoving the turn to a suspected bluff though. If we think he is bluffing I would rather just call and let him bluff again on the river. But, I'm not totally sold on folding. The villians raise is laying us 3.2-1 odds. With top pair and those odds against a villian who has been winning a lot of pots without showing down cards, I'd be inclined to atleast see the river. I think this would be a farily wide range for the villian: pairs 66-AA, A7s+, A7o+, KQs, KQo -
Turn Decision Making ($100 Nl)
Ricer98 replied to shinzilla's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I'd bet the turn everytime. The guy has shown no strength in the hand so far so we have to assume we are ahead. Even if he was slowplaying like in this instance we have outs. -

I'm not worried about he Button in the hand, it was more the MP player. Had the button not shoved I probably play the hand, but with both I was fairly certain one of them had it. Maybe its result oriented since I was dead on and MP turned over AA and button had QQ, exactly what I thought would happen when I folded. First time I've made this laydown but MP's out of the ordinary play in the hand had big warning bells going off in my head.

I don't like 4 betting here because it limits the hands that can call me. To put in a 3rd raise from the SB I have to have pretty much AA or KK. It could be argued that because its lower limits I might get called anyway, but I like just taking the flop here. As far as 4 betting and folding, 40-50% of my stack would go in as the raise, meaning folding would no longer be an option. I don't think as many hands are pushing here as the rest of you seem to think. I've been playing this level, after switching from limit, for a little over 8000 hands now. In that time I have never seen 1010 or A

CO wasn't showing down a ton of hands, but he never limped in preflop and ended showing down anything decient. Mostly check calling, hardly ever betting or raising. I had raised him quite a few times with position and he called just about every time.

I repotted because of the min lead. So many people raise preflop then min lead because they didn't hit anything. This might or might not make a difference but it was a game on ultimate bet, which in my opinion, plays a lot tighter than games on most other sites.
