  1. This tournament actually isn't deepstacked at all - 20 minute blinds are nothing live, that is fast.Odds-wise: Hero gets 1,6:1 drawing to (at best) 15 outs -> ~30% to hit on the turn, not quite enough. If just his flush draw is alive, he's less than 20% to hit it on the next card. Therefore I don't really like calling and reevaluating on the turn.Middle pair+nut flush draw is an exellent draw that I'd like to see both turn and river with, combined with fold equity (I wouldn't mind villain folding a king here), I do think that pushing all-in is the best play.
  2. Alright, thanks, I guess I just wanted some reassurance here. ;)I did push it all in and got called by UTG with A5s (!) and UTG with 66 (!!) and obviously bricked out like usual...ETA: both opponents insta-called btw, so maybe my table image wasn't quite as tight as I thought it was.
  3. $8.80 MTT, still far away from bubble (actually "middle" stages isn't quite right, it was after about 1 1/2 hours of play, just felt longer for me. )I had been playing very tight, card dead as usual and the big stacks didn't give me much space (lucky card racks), I had just made a big all-in semi-bluff against UTG the previous hand to gain ~1.500 chipsUTG+1 seemed to play tight as well - actually this was the first hand I noticed him playingCan I do anything but shove here?PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Form

Doesn't ****ing matter if I play it straight or mix it up a bit.I'm done with 4.40s - I'll only play +$50 buyin tourney now, where the other players respect my bets (sw on the second part).PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)MP3 (t1570)CO (t925)Hero (t1510)SB (t2765)BB (t2790)UTG (t1895)UTG+1 (t3525)MP1 (t3320)MP2 (t3110)Preflop: Hero is Button with A, A. 6. Then muck it preflop, or if you jsut call, then call the all-in on the flop - or were you seriously set-mining? Your line of play is very inconsistent if you lay it down on the flop imo. Just shove it pre, or go for it as played on such a good flop or throw it away pre. Anything in between doesn't make a lot of sense to me.I also agree with the check-raise in the post above this one.ETA: the results - I think you shouldn't not go broke on the flop confronted with such a move of an aggressive player.

  8. I'll ship a stake for your sympathy. (provided you play the next 4.40 that is just registering)
  9. [rant]Can someone please come to my house and shoot me next time I register in a 4.40? Much more humane way of dying than torturing myself playing them and then commiting suicide by smashing my head against the wall in frustration.[/rant]I must be the only person in the world who can't get a ****ing positive ROI in the 4.40s...
  10. aaand another one. I think I'm literally going mad playing 4.40s. 11. Just one more player has to bust so you get your seat, is that right?I wouldn't call with anything other than KK and AA here. I think that would be a terrible call, 3 possible scenarios:1- Fold: You are still in a fabulous spot to get your seat, and you have a full orbit time before the blinds hit you again.2- Call and Win: Victory!3- Call and Lose: Disaster! You are now in the middle of the pack and just doubled up a short stack. Your chances of getting a seat are still ok, but they are dramatically worse than in scenario one. With A9s you are likely somewhere between a 65% favourite and a 30%

  13. Meh, I don't like it, but I just shove it in here - what is CO trying to say with that ridiculous bet, always confusing to me? I have no idea what hand anyone has in this hand.
  14. I don't like the call preflop, looks like a good way to bleed chips to me. As played I call, I doubt he pushes a better hand that way, it is a big overbet. He's probably trying to push you around, and you don't look specifically strong in that hand anyway, imo - good move by villain if he can even make you think about folding an overpair here.
  15. I get the reference, but my point was more as to how that "catching" would work.
  16. Yes, definately. I see absolutely no reason why that shouldn't be possible - in fact I'd be very surprised if such programs don't exist already (though obviously, any program that is sold online or that you could get your hands on in a different way, is trash). You don't need to play 25/50 NLHE to make a lot of money with a bot...I only hope that the poker-sites can find effective countermeasures to minimize the use of such programs.
  17. I understand that argument, and I'm not saying it's wrong, but I don't completely agree either. Analysing betting patterns and finding good places to bluff is not impossible to write into a computer program. Making marginal bets and calls after pinning down your opponent's hand ranges while playing mathematically perfect is not impossible to do for a computer program. Something that probably is very difficult to incorporate are psychological factors, but most other aspects of poker can be done, imo. A program doesn't need to get everything right to have an edge against most players. Also, I'm n
  18. Well, following that logic, if you assume Ivey is the best there is, then only Ivey could make a program that can beat Ivey - beating Laak might be easier to achieve. There are chess programs that not only beat most humans, but beat even the best humans in the game - a game that has been seriously played on a very high level for at least a couple centuries. I doubt that poker is really more complex than chess in that regard.ETA: And to make money with a poker-bot you don't even need a program that can beat professional players - beating $20 STTs, 3/6 LHE, 0.5/1 NLHE, etc. would easily be enou
  19. Mod rhymes with god - don't let technicalities hold you back.
  20. I agree, I would also give him a free card and let him make a big bluff at the pot again. [better post the hand in tournament strategy though if you are interested in a serious discussion about it]Grats on the win.
  21. A moron. But seriously, it was a very obvious mistake, 4ofakind (or one of the other players left?) even mentioned rdtedm getting >1st place money during the negotiations...
  22. He means, you won't be winning with 88 vs QQ allin preflop for a while.
  23. I don't even think that would be fair - part of winning a tourney is also fighting mental exhaustion and stuff, it wouldn't be the same as if you had played it to the finish now.I also think, there is no other solution but Pokerstars honoring the deal.
  24. Fight it!Noone can say how the tourney would have played out without the deal. Too bad for Lee, but he made a mistake that simply shouldn't happen.
