I don't like it. I agree that donk bets are almost always weak but I wouldn't classify this as a donk bet situation. He 1/2 pots turn and river. If he had check called flop and turn and then led river its more of a nuts or air situation. Here I think he likes his hand to some degree. The only bluff situation I see here is he turned a flush draw, led it, missed and bluffed river. Otherwise I think he's betting for value. I think your thinking is bang on. I shove in this spot in most situations. I'd like a read on the blinds so that I have a decent understanding of their calling range, but my default play is shove.

I'm not folding a set to a guy who has been erratic. That doesn't mean he doesn't have 88 or QQ. I can't imagine why anyone would play AQ like that but it doesn't mean I haven't seen it. It could also be a AA or KK that went from trapping to spazzing out, but unlikely. If it was villain #1 I would toss it in the muck but not with your read on villain#2. Did you have any tells after he shoved? Without a strong tell that he is super strong I'm calling but not liking it.

I want to echo want NNB said. Doing work on pokerstove and figuring out calling ranges when getting a certain price is crucial to becoming a better player and fixing leaks. If you haven't used pokerstove you will be very surprised at the results you will get when doing this calculations. All those times you said in chat "how can you called me with that BS hand?". There is 47500 in the pot, more than 10% of your stack. You don't want those chips? You will get those chips 70-75% depending on GMJ's calling range. You can't give a walk to GMJ's stack here. Doing something goofy like raise folding would be the worst.Congrats GMJ.

I agree with Vick12. We're going with our hand. If you just flat the flop you leave him with one PSB. He should be jamming the turn unless he was just taking stab at the pot and is giving it up. If he puts out a bet of more than 1/3 of his stack or more then we get it in. If a blank comes on the turn and he bets less than 1/3 of his stack I may just flat again (I usually read that bet as weakness, especially when we have the Nuts) so he may 3 barrel bluff the river. I think this hand is kind of related to TJ's thread. I would flat and allow the player to fire again on the turn. They aren't folding sets, 2 pair, overpair hands being that shallow. They aren't folding 2 overs and flush draw, or a pair and flush draw. They are only folding air and pair hands. There is really nothing to protect your hand against. Let them them keep firing.

Agree with Grinder on all 3 hands. The TT is a snap call because with all the dead money already in the pot (your raise+blinds and antes) you only need 42% equity vs his range to call. If you put his range at 6% (which is a tight range) , TT is 48% vs that range which is obviously a clear call.

that is a really nitty fold considering the situation. One of the players behind only has 8bbs. What's your UTG raising range with 126bbs and antes in play? I think folding is the worst play in this case. I'm not for playing big pots with AQ either, but I think this is a pretty good spot to pick up some dead money. I'd like it more if I knew the original raiser wasn't a station.

I like raising for value and isolating the short stack. The original raisers range has to be ridiculously wide considering his stack. Something tells me the guy doesn't have a fold button but a raise the play. You have position post flop so if he calls you can control the pot. If he puts in another raise you can probably safely muck.

It's funny you should call him a nit because I was at his table on the bubble. He was definitely in folding to cash mode. Then this hand comes up, shortstack (8bbs) pushes in LP, button ISO shoves, Jerms timebanks (he had 15bbs) after about 20 seconds I say "he has a big hand he wants to call/laydown-- AK, QQ/JJ". He timebanks into his last 10 seconds and finally calls and shows AK of spades. He is against JJ. K on river. After the the bubble burst he was very active even with a 20ish BB stack. He was flatting a lot of raises. I had him running a VPIP OF 24 AND PFR of 14. He was hella bad.Late

You are getting 1.5 to 1. He needs to be shoving ~20% of hands to make this a profitable call. With his M and the size of the blinds antes he should definitely be shoving wider than 20% but at lower stakes they rarely are. If he was competent I call, with no reads (leaning to tight image) I lean toward folding. Other factors would be are we near the bubble? Clear fold. Has the bubble burst? Calling looks better.
