  1. I basically play a TAG tournament game. First, I've been running cold, and bad when I actually get a hand. I have recently started to play very aggressively if I catch any part of the flop. It seems to be working right now, but I'm wondering if I'm getting carried away.(sorry no hh)I'm fairly new to the table and have no read on villian.blinds are $25/$50 in a 27 man sng. i have about $1700 as does my eventual opponent.EP, I limp with A J. MP raises to $150. it folds around and i call.flop J Q 6 .i check, he bets pot ($375), i move in.
  2. The avatar is still alive. Top notch.
  3. Losing to JJ would be bad luck. Losing to A10 would be a bad beat. Losing to 10-8 with A10 in the hand is criminal. Raising and reraising and losing this hand is priceless. This hand just amused me. I have plenty of beats to cry about and I don't post them here.Just thought this was crazy enough to be interesting if you are trying to figure out how some players think.

  5. From my experience, a min raise from early position followed by a bet or raise is usually QQ or better, on that type of flop. I would probably either fold, or call and decide on the turn.Being a rebuy, if you felt you J was an overcard and you had a little gamble, then I could see pushing, although I would probably still lean toward calling.

  8. "i have been playing for the last 4 months and have made average 4000 a month"you're making $4000 a month and you want to work for $5.15 /hr plus tips ???
  9. The title came from the fact that I was chipleader for most of the tourney until close to this point. I wasn't getting hands and the two bigger stacks have be to my left for a little while, so grabbing blinds have not been easy. There was one limper, so I took a shot. I didn't like the BB call, but I hit top pair on the flop. I didn't like that call, but I didn't put him on AQ or KQ. I knew two pair was good. My mistake was to milk it instead of moving in. I wasn't paying attention to the flush draw until it hit. What made me call, although I guess I had no idea what he had, was that twice ear
  10. Finished third. Chipleader was a little much to overcome. Also, the eighth player at the FT was L. Croft. Don't know if a guy would use that screenname.
  11. Funny man.It came up in conversation. Actually there was only one avatar of a woman.
  12. 45 "man" sng on Stars.Somehow I made it to the final table. With six of us left, I was the only male.I wonder how many ladies were actually in the tourney to start with. They took pity on me and only two of them beat me. I'm wondering if this is abnormal or becoming more commonplace. On the rare occasion I play in B&M, I still don't see THAT many women. I not sure, but I think it was nice to see. Until I busted out that is.
  13. I'm really trying to learn how to build a stack early in a tourney, because at some point, I always seem to get sucked out on and I am either knocked out or severely crippled. On a few occasions, I have accumulated chips, but it seems when I try to use my stack, I continually wind up against someone who has a hand.Which leads me to my question. With my stack size, how poorly did I play this hand?45 man sng. 13 players left.only info on BB: Raised 4X UTG and showed a big pp a few times. not extremely aggressive, but will play an ok hand all the way.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind
  14. I've only recently started playing HU LH @ .25/.50.Many opponents at this level fall under loose passive. I've found, again in my limited experience, that you can't overpower them. Obviously, fire away when you feel you have an advantage, but don't be afraid to continually check down with nothing. As you know, card rushes are huge in this game. It is just as important not to throw away bets when it seems like your opponent is hitting everything. If he doesn't force you to bet when he has middle or top pair (yes i'v seen this a lot), don't feel obligated to bet. Just play basic boring poker.BTW
  15. This happened to me in a tourney at foxwoods. What k double o said is exactly how it was handled.
  16. I'll play a few. 11PM is tough for me. any thoughts of duplicating a few events and running some earlier, say 7 or 8PM, and some later for the west coast palyers ? Don't know what the effect on field size would be.Thanks for creating this. Seems like fun.
  17. Thanks all for the help. Now if we can only get the PATS vs PANTHERS.
  18. As you said, you wanted probably one caller, however I haven't had many players go over the top of me with AQ, on their own accord, especially with the blinds where they were. A9...? I think he needs someone to tell him to fold.
  19. Yes, it is a bet at a sportsbook. If we our teams face each other, we were thinking about splitting the winnings so one of us wouldn't get shut out.The question was, to make the split "fair", how would it be done, taking into consideration the fact that my team was more of an underdog to win originally, and the fact that my friend's bet was $200 compared to my $100?Basically wondering, how do the original odds and the difference in the amount of our two bets affect the weight of the "split", as opposed to 50/50.
  20. Since most poker players gamble in other areas, I was hoping someone could answer this.My friend and I each took a long-shot to win the superbowl. If both teams play each other in the superbowl and we want to split, what's the fairest way ?I have $100 on a 15/1. He has $200 on a 12/1.This is making my head hurt.
  21. Does anyone know how to create a private tournament on Pokerstars ?DNA?Thank you.
  22. Are you normally shorter stacked late in the tourney? If so, you need to pick some spots and gamble a bit more. Obviously getting a good read on your opponents is vital. Otherwise, keep playing the way you are, and don't press to hard. Play solidly and the results will take care of themselves.
