  2. im playing a nl he tourny with 5 players at my table, 6 at the other table and the final 3 get money. I have about 25$ in chips and the blinds are at .25/.50p1( a loose/aggressive player who has about 27$ in chips) is UTG and calls the BB. p2 (a tight/passive player) calls the BB also. p3 folds. p4 folds in SB. I'm dealt KJ in the BB and raise to 2$. p1 and p2 call.flop is J 10 6 :club:I raise 5$, p2 folds out of turn and p1 calls after a long time of thinking.turn is K I check and p1 raises 6$. I re-raise all-in and he immediately calls. He had a 9Q and caught a straight on the turn.river i
  3. in nl he, should i call the BB with Q10?
  4. I usually raise big with these hands before the flop, but when i miss the flop i'm put in a bad position. do i raise? call another guy's raise? or check/fold? Or should i just limp in before the flop with these hands? They seem really overrated to me.
  5. Last Friday, I played a NL HE tournament with my friends. There was 6 of us and we started off with 25$ in chips and the blinds were at .25/.50.my friends basically suck at poker, they have read super system 2 and think they're the best now. They'll call with alot of sh*t and raise with crap. First hand of the night i get dealt JJ in the SB. 2 players limp in. I raise 3$. Both players call.Flop is K K QI bet 2$. both players call.Turn is QI check, another player checks, and the last player bets 2$.I fold...it turns out that 1 guy had a A6 and the other guy had a QT.How should I have playe
  6. I was recently playing NL HE tourny and it got down to heads-up with a friend of mine (1st place was 60$, 2nd was 10$). We were about even with 30$ in chips when this hand came up... Blinds at .25/.50Im on the button with A4 and raise it to 2$ (I had been raising almost every hand on the button and raising again on the flop). My friend, who is a tight/aggressive player who occasionally bluffs, calls the 2$. Flop is A 6 8 rainbow. He checks, and I raise 2$. He moves all-in.What would you do?
  7. I was reading the limit HE section of SS2 and I was wondering if ya'll think some of the strategies she discusses are applicable for NL.
  8. I think it depends on your chip stack. If he's putting you all-in, then fold. If not, i'd call.
  9. Im playing a NL HE ring game with 7 of my friends and this hand came up...I have about 40$ in chips, player 2 has about 20$, and player 3 has 15$.Im on the button with K5o. Player 2 is the UTG+2, and player 3 is in the BB.Everyone folds to Player 2, who limps in. Everyone else folds to me, so i limp in. Player 3, who is very loose and bluffs alot, raises it 2$ above the blinds. Player 2 calls and I call.Flop is 5 7 7 .Player 3 checks, Player 2 raises and i re-raise him. Player 3 folds, and player 2 calls.Turn is a 2 Player 2 raises 2$ more and i have no idea what to do. If he had a high PP
  10. Last weekend i played a NL HE ring game with 4 of my friends and heres what happened...I have about 45$ in chips, another guy (we'll call him Joe) has about 55$, another guy (we'll call him Bob) has 35$ and he's in the BB, and the other guy has like 20$.Im in the small blind with 66 (blinds at .25/.50). The Joe is UTG and raises 2$ above the blinds. the dealer folds. I call, and Bob calls too.Flop is A 7 6 :club:I raise 5$, which was a pretty big sized bet in our game. Bob and Joe both call.Turn is J I raise 5$ again. Both players call.River is J :club:I move all-in. Both players call.I hav
  11. I don't like to check the river when i have a big hand. If i make a full house on the flop, i'll check it to the river then make a 4x BB bet. Your opponent will most likely fold or re-raise. He might think you're trying to steal the pot and re-raise, this has happened to me on several occasions.
  12. Bob Dylan is a genius. I have 4 of his albums and love them.Best Songs--1.) Knockin' on Heaven's Door (and yes it was he who originally wrote this song)2.) Blowin' in the Wind3.) Like a Rolling Stone4.) Hurricane5.) Forever Young
  13. Every weekend i play poker with some friends. 2nd place gets his buy-in back and 1st place gets the rest. 8-12 people usually play. With this payout structure, 1st place is the really the only place that matters, and I usually outlast everyone until its heads-up. Those 5 mins of heads-up play is the only thing that matters. Those 2-3 hours that i've been outlasting people mean absolutely nothing.Any ideas on how I should play heads-up? like starting hands, etc...
  14. I don't know what the deal is with downloading stuff off of the internet and i really don't care. But does anyone know of a website where i can download wsop and wpt videos?
  15. I think you should have either re-raised or folded pre-flop.On the flop when he moved all-in on you, you had to fold.
  16. you should have folded on the flop.
  17. Ace high flush on the flop loses to a fullhouse...Happened to me last week at a home game. Online poker isn't rigged, the same things happen when you play live.
  18. I think you should've tried to get a cheap showdown. The bet on the flop was alright. But i think you should've checked the turn. Was it a bad laydown? No
  19. Either check or bet the BB. You're not going to get any action at all with quads.
  20. But thats play money. of course they're gonna play extremely loose and aggressive, its play money.Your definition of tight is different from mine. The way you described it seems fine though. The kind of tight i was talking about is like folding KJo in early position.
  21. We'd play stud in high school and nobody gave a sh!t who won or lost, we were just there to have a good time. We really didn't care about the money. Im not sure if thats how it is nowadays. But i've always thought that the 5, 10, 20$ buy-in home games were basically just social games.
  22. Exactly. My mistake, i shouldn't have used the term "play loose". What I meant was to try and see cheap flops.
