Sheiky 0
I'm a pretty bad HU player, and i usualy don't play but there were only two of us at the time so i agreed to.The player i'm playing against is a bit of a LAG FPS guy.The blinds were .5/.10 and i have £5 behind, he has me covered. On the button i raise to .3 with AJo, he calls. The flop is 88J rainbow. He bets .3, i raise to .7, he re-raises to £1.5.What do i do? AcesOnFire 0
Depends on the player, but against a LAG who likes to raise I call, then raise any bet he places on the turn.

Sheiky 0
how often does he reraise? Would he do that with top pair? He's a player that bluffs at random for no apparent reason, re-raises frequently against other players in out game but less against me.He'd probably go broke with top pair.Having said that though, he was playing my friend HU and called a river all in for £25 with AK high and won so he's a semi decent player. Dictius 0
push it inHe's probably going to fold a worse J if we shove here.If he has been playing LAG I like calling the flop then betting/raising the turn. He may have an overpair if he suffers from FPS or an 8 but I'm not folding this for 50BB if he has been playing very LAG.And your flop raise is too small, raise to like 0.9. If you feel like you're going to lose playing heads up, read some books, and play online HU or for practice with someone before you start playing for money. Buy in full too, .5/.10, buy in for $10 or 10 Euros - whatever.I agree that your flop raise should have been to something like $1.0 even, 0.70 is too small. Call the flop, and depending on what he does on the turn, I'm probably stacking off to a LAG here like always after the flop.Personally, I recommend (if you haven't read it already) Harrington on Hold'em Vol. 2 for heads up play. HU in tournaments and cash is pretty much the same game. You're looking to put pressure on your opponent, play position, etc. Never open fold - at least limp, raise all pairs and any Ace, etc.
