erik seidel, impressive?

Recommended Posts

Just finished watching the WSOP event that Erik Seidel won. I keep hearing feedback about how masterfully he played. From the hands that I saw on the broadcast, only the 44's I believe were impressive. All the other plays, anyone in here would make. AA's over QQ's, that's a tough one. 88's vs 99's, sucking out, that's harder. Flopped nut straight going all in hoping Violette has an ace.Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he did play very very well to get to the final table and win it. Just looking at the 5 or so hands that he played on the final table though give no indication of anything.Flame away

Televised poker is almost never an accurate representation of how the tournament was actually played.

read the cardplayer.com transcript...that will give you a much clearer picture of how masterful Seidel's performance was.I am not flaming you. NO one could be expected to understand how dominant Seidel was from that ESPN telecast. They dont really accurately portray what happened. Read the transcript then see what you think.

trying to evaluate a poker player using only ESPN's telecast is like trying to evaluate a lineman's performance by watching sportscenter.
now that, my friends, is a solid analogy.
