FoxwoodsPro 0
if i split a 301 dollar pot or w/e at FW the extra dollar goes to the closest person to the dealer (in order of sb/bb obv)......is this the universal answer?sup?
uncooper 1
It varies. It can be the person who had position on the last betting round. I think it can be the last person who made a bet.In home games, we just stick it in the pot for the next hand.
David_Nicoson 1
5. If two or more hands tie, an odd chip will be awarded as follows: In a button game, the first hand clockwise from the button gets the odd chip. In a stud game, the odd chip will be given to the highest card by suit in all high games, and to the lowest card by suit in all low games. (When making this determination, all cards are used, not just the five cards that constitute the player's hand.) In high-low split games, the high hand receives the odd chip in a split between the high and the low hands. The odd chip between tied high hands is awarded as in a high game of that poker form, and the odd chip between tied low hands is awarded as in a low game of that poker form. If two players have identical hands, the pot will be split as evenly as possible. All side pots and the main pot will be split as separate pots, not mixed together. Players would come out better if the dealer would just keep the odd chip in a 1/2 game. Otherwise they both end up tipping in a pot that they might not have made a profit in, anyway. yeffy 0
This didnt need its on thread you could have asked it in the other stupid thread. The answer is it depends. Most casinos do worst position, ie closest to the SB. Some places do high card in the hand (by suit if necessary) whether the card plays or not.

BeaverStyle 1
We've always played that it goes to the BB... lol. It's worked out alright so far. I suppose it might go to the player with the highest value suit? But who the hell can ever remember which suit has more value than others???
13CARDS 0
At NFCR, the extra dollar goes to the player that will post the BB next.Question: In a $5-$5 NL game, should the dealer "chop" a $5 chip down to $1 chips or should the odd chip only be whatever plays in the blinds? So no it shouldn't. In stud games it's the chips used to ante. In Button games it's the standard chip used in that game. ie: 15/30 limit would be $5 chips, 30/60 would be $10 chips etc.

RhinestoneCowboy 2
I am/was curious if "closest to the button ( sb/bb)" was a universal rule ive only played at FW, bellagio , borgata and monte carlo.......From the sounds of the posts in this thread, it is pretty close to universal.Goes to the player out of position. wrong from all ive seen @ the biggest poker room in the world and othersj/sthat makes no senseNow let's think about this tough guy. Who is guaranteed to be out of position? That's right little man...the Small Blind. If the small blind folded during the hand, who would be out of position? That's right! The big blind. This guy gave an answer that agreed with what you said yet you still either:A. Were trying to flame him for trying to give a serious answer in your stupid thread.B. Were too stupid to understand that closest to the button is the same as out of position.
psujohn 0
No. You're wrong.Nope. It varies. What you said is correct in Vegas AFAIK. In AC they do it by high card or suit.

Royal_Tour 0
WTF?this didnt need official rulings, the extra dollar goes to the player closest to the button starting at SB.anyone who said "it depends" is playing at a makeshift hole during amateur hour.
psujohn 0
this didnt need official rulings, the extra dollar goes to the player closest to the button starting at SB.Normally when people talk about "closest to the button" they mean in position. Generally I'd say that CO is closer to the B than UTG. In online and Vegas the extra $1 goes to first from the button or the oop player.anyone who said "it depends" is playing at a makeshift hole during amateur hour.Yeah that pretty much sounds like AC.
