Potomophobia 17
Let me get this straight.....Donald Trump is a cancer on society.People voting for a lame singer on an even lamer show are terrorists.Analogies can be absurd, but are acceptable if Danny uses them.Danny is a Christian who lives in and makes his money from the people going to Sin City. Danny derides education. Danny says...go play poker young man. I'll be waiting in Vegas for you.Maybe I'm just slow..... but I'm not clear on who the cancer really is. ratwastard 0
i also don't believe a true christian would own a bar or other liquor establishment, nor would they be a marijuana smuggler.actually come to think about it, i think a devout christian could feel better about himself gambling (blackjack/roulette) than playing poker. casino games are a given concerning expected loss rate. poker on the other hand is about preying on weaker people. nutzbuster 7
Of cancer, I once heard......."Any day that you can wake up and NOT have to go to Chemo is a good day"...Put down the Haterade OP and start smelling the roses. There are bigger things to hate in life than one mans opinions.
Potomophobia 17
I would like to clarify my statements.I don't hate Daniel. He is an excellent poker player and a decent human being. He is also a celebrity. Being a celebrity brings responsibility. What bothers me is his choice of words. Everyone is allowed to have opinions. But when your words are quoted and read by thousands, if not millions of people, then you have a responsibilty to think before you speak.I can be blunt at times. I do that for a reason.Words matter. Choose them carefully.

He's just a human being who plays poker, and with it came some pseudo fame and now all of the sudden he has to speak to masses on issues with clarity and accuracy? No- he is still going to say some stupid ****. Like you. Or me. I expect nothing else.

I expect nothing else.today i was watching tapes of HSP. i've seen all of them, some 3 or 4 times. today i saw DN call freddy deeb's all in -- it was like 80,000 or so (or the total pot was like $160,000). freddy had aces and dn had a pair and a gutshot (needed a queen i think). so insane on how he made such a nonchalant call for $80,000. for 99.9% of the western hemisphere that is a huge amount of money never to be tossed around like that.okay what the hell's my point..... i forgot

PotLimitTripleDrawIsSick 0
I have an opinion on this...My brother has been a Christian for a long time. I've watched him change and grow and listened to him for a long time. He's a pretty good guy. My brother has gambled before. Making blanket statements saying that a "true christian" wouldn't do such and such is irresponsible and dangerous. Two people could do the exact same thing and one could be sinning and the other one could not be sinning. Only Daniel and God knows what his intent and feeling are at the table. If he acts with contempt or anger or any number of other emotions that cause him to be off balance he could be sinning but it isn't poker that is the sin. It isn't a coicidence that the main attributes that allow him to win consistantly are the priciples that God probably wants us to try to live consistantly. Focus,Calm, and a sense of a higher purpose can be had even when playing poker. As far as "predatory" behavior once again this is a matter of context. Tiger Woods is a predator. Most people would say he isn't sinning when he plays golf. If I trade shares in companys on the stock exchange am I a sinner? The true motive of people that see Daniel play poker and in some cases hurt his opponants financially is to have him acknowledge that he is somehow a hypocrite. That his "taking" money from other people damages peoples lives and that he shouldn't do this. It could be possible that God is using him as an instrument to teach the people he is playing against lessons that God wants them to know. I think what happens is that people see Jesus speak against the wealthy numerous times and then they conclude that God doesn't want you to be rich. This mindset of course is convienent for people that don't try to prosper because they can always point to the Bible and bash the rich and most people have no defense. I think what Jesus was really trying to say was not that it's wrong to be rich but that having money creates moral challenges that all but the most wise cannot overcome. That because HE loves us so much that he rather not see us lose our soul so we can have a bigger house. The number one lesson that I've come to learn is that we as people are bad judges. Only God can judge perfectly because God is perfect. No matter how smart we are or whether we sit on the Supreme Court there will be defects in our thought process that make it far less than perfect. Even the seven justices can't agree on any decision and they have lifetime appointments and are brilliant in human terms.Maybe you are right and maybe you are wrong. The "Cancer on Society" is the lack of thought process of practically every single person you see on television and on the internet. As a matter of fact I hate even writing anything because I am so unwise. I am disgusted at myself sometimes because there is so much I am missing.GL in this WSOP D Dogg
