For The Vegas Locals--bally's This Weekend

Recommended Posts

Off to Bally's Vegas on Friday. A couple questions:1. Anyone know the comp deal for playing 6+ hrs per day at Bally's?2. I'm equally comfortable at 3-6 LHE as 1-2 NL. Which would be the softer game generally speaking? 3. Is the 11am tourney worth it?Thanks in advance for your insightful responses.David in Atlanta

You could probably call them and ask for the poker room to get the details.
I did, and she was very non-specific. You have to book a regular room, then talk to the poker room supervisor on arrival, and they will track you and reduce the room rate by some amount at check out. Don't know if that means $2 off, or full comp... likely somewhere between that. :club:

is there a room at bally's as well as the small one next door at paris? i played a few times at paris last month and thought that the tournaments were kind of stupid but that the $1-2 $300NL ring game was unbelievably soft at all hours. check out paris.

I actually don't know the answer per se to any of your questions, but rather have a general impression of Bally's Room. It's kind of non-existent. You'll find a couple of 1-2 NL tables going almost all the time and likewise for 2-4 limit. I don't recall if I ever saw a 3-6 game going there at all? Then again I only played limit when I sat with my GF at the time. In general the Bally's room is pretty mediorce at best though. That's in terms of games going and location - not terrible, but also not optimal like some of the better places on the strip. I don't know if you have a poker rate and have to play there but otherwise I'd reccomend going across the street - either to the Bellagio or to Caesars. I find Caesars' room awesome, although some people complain it gets a little too rowdy (valid complaint). That said, however, the room is gigantic and you'll almost always find a great selection of games going (1-2NL and, at least 2-4 and 4-8 limit - not sure about 3-6, but I'd assume they spread it?).Just my two cents.

Vegas comps for poker and sportsbook are next to nothing. I placed $10,000 in bets comp was $25 I played about 4 tourneys and endless hours of poker comp $10. Half an hour on a nickel slot will probably get you $100 plus a buffet though.
