PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)UTG ($400)Hero ($1087.10)CO ($676.15)Button ($436)SB ($1030.40)BB ($527.30)Preflop: Hero is MP with 6heart.gif, 5heart.gif. I don't know that I like any of the preflop actions. We're OOP against the 3-bettor, and we're not very deep against the original raiser in the first place. I like to call behind in position when I can be fairly sure I will have position, but our action invites CO or BTN to come into the pot. Unless CO is spewy I don't like the flop line either. It doesn't seem like we're gonna get a ton of action on the turn or river on a future flush if we're ahead against a solid opponent.

lol the strange part is that the #s only get bigger and you care less and less each time. Basically a complete desensitization to money.I never thought I would become like this, but honestly, I have almost no respect for $ when it comes to poker. (I can somehow separate poker life/real life to an extent)edit:What I'm trying to say is that money doesn't seem "real" to me when I'm at the poker table. It took a long time for me to genuinely feel this way, but even after a huge loss (in real $ terms) I don't get too upset anymore. I don't really know how this happened, I guess when you play long enough thats just the way it is.

Werll tonight I'm definately watching Bourne. But like, it's not FPS, it's pure monkey calling station retardness. I just see bets and I HAVE TO CALL THEM, it's like God came down and told me that "everyone has to be making a move since u look like a weak/tight bum", so I've resorted to calling EVERYTHING, when I could be up 2-3 buyins if I just folded. Will pay to help me lay down.
That pretty well describes my play lately. How do you break out of it?

Well, you can ask Mark to tell u what you are doing wrong, and then proceed to lose $1000 while him and Jeet laugh

I would go bust half the way through that ordeal. Ok, less than half thanks to my poor run since moving to RiverStars. (and my calling station ways)

Here is a funny example. I can stack off $1000 and not bat an eye playing poker. But I got an offer in the mail yesterday for a free $15 for this credit card protection thing that costs $100/year but I can cancel it once it starts and keep the $15 at no cost. So obv I'm doing that cause its $15!!!Mark

Made a quick $200... then gave it back just as quick.I decided to try the heads-up games. Since I'm new to it, I started at the lowest stakes. Here was my second hand: it set the stage.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (2 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)saw flop|saw showdownHero ($50.25)BB ($148.15)Preflop: Hero is Button with Aspade.gif, Aheart.gif. Hero raises to $1.5, BB raises to $4.5, Hero raises to $11, BB calls $6.50.Flop: ($22) 6club.gif, Tspade.gif, 9spade.gif(2 players)BB checks, Hero bets $11, BB raises to $137.15, Hero calls $28.25 (All-In).Turn: ($100.50) 6diamond.gif(2 players, 1 all-in)River: ($100.50) 4club.gif(2 players, 1 all-in)Final Pot: $100.50Results in white below: BB has 6s 7h (three of a kind, sixes). Hero has As Ah (two pair, aces and sixes). Outcome: BB wins $198.40. I gave up after donating 3 buy-ins to this guy. Don't bother pointing out that my 4-bet was light preflop: I know that -- it was a "slider misclick".I'm on tilt, so I'm calling it a night.
