Steal feels like sody is desperate and doesn't have to have a strong hand to jam there. He then decides that pastika would need a monster to call him if he isolates, so he jams getting better then 2.5 - 1. The way it played out actually, he's getting the right odds vs the right hand, but like I said, not a play I make. I'd be worried about running into pastika having a real hand, and it would ruin my image for future re-steals. Something you would see Annette do though. :-)

Thanks for the anlysis. i hadn't been watching that long but my read was that sody had been playing pretty tight. Unless you assume that sody was trying to isolate pastika. Meh, I've just satrted railing more of these higher buy in tournies. Good learning.

Meh, I've just satrted railing more of these higher buy in tournies. Good learning. With only like 6 bbs left, sody's should be looking to double up. Since he jammed with no fold equity after an ep raise on the bubble, you can probably limit his range though to 77+, AQ+ (and possibly a lot more hands depending on how tight he is and how little he understands tournament poker). Someone with pokerstove or something like that could run the numbers and see how JThh fares against his range and whether or not it's a good 'math' play.
