Wow... Daniel are you serious! You are a complete sock puppet or idiot! In fact I've seen better looking less smelly sock puppets in my life time!Actually, I'm jk this whole thing is ridiculous, and you have every right to be angry. Greg has turned this into a middle school playground arguing over who's right and wrong with name calling... totally not necessary... He's totally killing his reputation.I don't know where to start with this..."Daniel did not go to law school, nor even to college"First thing that bothers me the most is Greg saying that because daniel's not a lawyer, didn't go to college that therefore he can't understand the situation... that he can't express an opinion? WTF!Than he goes on about how Daniel is either stupid or a sock puppet...Wow, when did we forget to grow up and be civilized.I thought adults talked to each other if they had a problem? Not post on a forum, name call, and make assumptions...Greg Raymer "talk to the hand" :club: Anyways, here's the thread if you guys didn't already know...http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...showtopic=70006

My predictions about the case... I think they will settle and it will just drop the longer this drags on the worse it will become for pokers image. I do agree with Daniel's comments regaurding this case. Greg brought up an interesting point... but really Greg why waste your time and money..."If you have signed the release form put forth by the WPT, then this is exactly what could happen. A little while ago, when Coke Zero was new, they paid me a fee to use my name in a series of radio commercials. Because the commercials did not use my voice, I did not need to "do" anything, just sell them the right to use my name. If the WPT had my signature on one of their releases from this year, then Coke could have gone to them and gotten permission, and probably for less money. How could that possibly be fair? What if I were not a fan of Coke products? What if I even found them offensive? Yet I would not be able to stop the WPT from selling my name to that company for its advertising use."Greg Raymer (FossilMan) Ok im not a lawyer, but everytime I go into jury duty the court always says you can NOT talk about the case outside of court. Why is Greg posting legal stuff while they are in a lawsuit, couldnt the court dismiss the case?

I know DN rather enjoys being an advocate, but I do think that he should really let this WPT lawsuit issue rest.Whether it's right or not, Daniel is an important public figure when it comes to poker, and seeing this particular lawsuit, with Daniel claiming that it has no merit, has some important sway among the poker community. He may (though this may be a stretch) have some sway among the population at-large, if they were to take sufficient interest in the issue.Like it or not, public figures have a responsibility to conduct themselves in a respectable fashion, and Raymer -- who I must add has acted much more horribly than Daniel has -- has indicated his willingness to conduct this debate in the court of public opinion, and not in the most civilized fashion either.By continuing this debate, he acts as if Raymer's remarks are worth responding to. And frankly, they're not.People who know Daniel -- and I'm not claiming that I do -- will know that Daniel isn't a sockpuppet for the World Poker Tour. So who exactly is he defending himself to?We know that Daniel likes to advocate, strongly and passionately, for his views. And while I think he would disagree with my opinion here, he should save his battles for one worth fighting.Raymer, in this case, isn't worth it.

My opinion is simple, you don;t like don't sign it... their are lots of other waivers people sign every day... and those don't go to court... unless they are illegal... and the WPPT may be illegal... I don't know... but I think when they(lawsuit) group is representing the "Players" it now gives Daniel the right to state his opinion... he is a "player" isn't he? Educated or not, people form opinions everyday... some informed (Daniel's seems to be) and some not... Phil Gordon;s mp3 cast from the series stated "They could make blow up dolls and sell them in Porn stores across the country and we couldn't do anything about it" HAVE YOU EVER HEARD ANYTHING MORE RIDICULOUS. Is this what they are going to say in court?... I don't believe the case is unfounded or even wrong, but I do believe that the 7 should say they are representing themselves, for what they believe is best for poker instead of the players as a whole... I think Raymer's comments are a show of cowardness... and very unprofessional... Congrats on the great performance at the main event DN, even without the result you wanted... I kept track, and kept waiting for you to push in... but you held on for a long time... GL at the Bellagio.... PS put out a DVD on "small pot poker" on the same note... IMO... don't do it off the cuff... I found your last DVD a little all over the place... I don't diss it... but I think you would get alot more press "GOOD PRESS" if you took the time to prepare... just my opinion....

can there be something to this lawsuit w.r.t. the exclusive nature of the contracts the WPT signs w/ casinos?they are hosting an event in canada at fallsview in oct. does this mean that the CANADIAN poker tour cannot have an event there? that'd be pretty bad IMO. Fallsview is the premiere casino in canada (at least ontario!).can it be proven that the WPT is a monopoly? that might have a bearing on things (i'm thinking about the trouble Microsoft got into).not a lawyer, just wondering...

If Fallsview signs a independant agreement with the WPT then yes they can be the only tournement provider. Think of MacDonald's and thier affiliation with Cola producers... you can only buy one kind of Pop. Is DN Playing the Fallsview event?
