Zach6668 513 Posted September 1, 2006 Share Posted September 1, 2006 Oh, and not that I should really include this, and I'm certainly not proud of it, but I'm probably up a little over $2K for the month on Party blackjack. I had a night a week ago, where I was basically just giving money away at the casino in a 1/2 NL game after getting my big cash, and I was really pissed at myself, so when I came home, I decided to get a few hundred back playing BJ. Well, I hit a massive heater, won like 8 hands in a row with a bunch of splits and double downs, and four minutes later, I got out up $1600. Since then, I've had a few smaller sessions where I just try to win $100 or $200 because "it's so easy". I really do need to stop that though. Even when I start at $10 a hand, I'm always up to $100 in no time.This sounds very familiar.I've gone broke more than I want to count because of this.I'm down $650ish in August because of starting with $2 bets and running then up to $75 in no time.GL with staying away from the BJ. I need to do that to. My best bet is to just not play on Party.- Zach****, you guys sound like me a few months ago. I was big time gambling it up on Black Jack. Im talking $200 a hand for like an hour straight battling for no damn reason because THAT game can't be beat. The difference between you and I though, is that I think you play BJ when youre winning and I play it when I take a bad beat or am losing in poker, lol, Which is bad. But I have since stopped that **** and now focused on what I do best, poker. Ran up $50 playing 1-2 and turned it to the 2-4 game and have made over 4K in the last 3 months. I only play 15 hours a week too, and this month Im playing 30K hands and am gonna make atleast 2K. I WILL NEVER PLAY BJ AGAIN, Hey Zach you said you 'deleted' it, did you hide it or is there an actualy way to delete it? If so, LET ME KNOW!!! Link to post Share on other sites

I dont know how you'd get help for it, mind you.If it drives you enough that you're compelled to bet large amounts on what you know is a losing proposition, can you imagine all of the close decisions that you **** up because of it? I played four hands of BJ (one double-down involved) and left with $6. Funny how playing poker makes me loathe gambling without an edge. Link to post Share on other sites

When there's a close decision, I look at the EV, and I make the +EV decision.For other ****, it's not that it's -EV, I mean, I know that. ****, I don't even enjoy BJ or anything like that. It's just that once you start, and you get stuck something even like $20, I always increase my bet to try and win it back... it's a vicious cycle.I'm pretty clean of that right now though. I very rarely go to the casino here, and when I do, I only spend what I can on the pure social and entertainment value of it.I did have the mistake on Party this month, but they used to come a lot more frequently. Before I was a donkey and couldn't win, but now that I can make 2-3K a month playing poker I don't need the blackjack and I have alot more control now because I know better. I dont care if the logo is there to "remind" me lol, Just as long as I can't click it, LOL Im better now, havent played blackjack in a while, and I was down almost $200 today playing 4 tables of 2-4 limit.Here are my results, thus far...2,359 hands played$132 profit, 33BB1.4BB/100 hands. That 1.4BB/100 hands looks good compared to how bad I was running today. I was DOWN $200 for a while and grided it back out. GOAL:27,674 more hands for the month $2268 more profit to come.
