The Student 0
So I’m playing at my favorite 18 and up B&M casino, and I'm sitting pretty at a 1-1-2 NL $100 max buy table. I was up and down most of the night but never down below $100. I have been playing tight aggressive poker, raising into any pot I'm going to play preflop, and bounding away at everyone after the flop. Only one guy at the table has figured out to play back at me, and his name was Dan and he was a very talkative and annoying player. In this hand Dan in on the second small blind and UTG raises it up to ten, I have J 10 spades and I flat call, the button and Dan calls and as Dan throws his chips in he says "I'm going to play but its going to be a very Negreanu-like hand." which made me smile and says out load "You have 10 7." and he leaned back in his chair and stared at me like I was a ghost. The flop comes down 9 7 6 with two spades. Dan looks at the board and bets out $15, UTG folds over to me, and he says the same thing he says every hand "AK no good." and I smile and look over at the dealer then at him and say "All-in, $146", Button folds, and Dan curses, then he stares a me and I smile. "Will you show me if I fold?” which I responded "I'll show you one." He folds and shows, 9 7 of clubs. The table erupts, and I laugh out loud and flip over the J of spades, so he knows I down have 10 8 or a set. He gets up and ceases again saying "all-in? pocket jacks? censored!" So my question for you is it a good bluff by me or a horrible laydown of the best hand by him? My thoughts on going all in her is if he bets out a good amount and I go all in thinking he has a pair of 7s which was my original read, I can steal a good sized pot here. If he has two pair, he calls and I'm 48% to win (I'm not sure out good that number is but hey) and if he ahs AK of spades he folds..
Guest Anonymous
good blufff on your part that wasn't really a great flop for him. I mean two spades out there, straight draws, even trips. It was a good bet on your part. IT would be hard to fold but i would probably do the same thing in his position.
Emptyeye 0
Yeah, top two pair is very vulnerable (And perhaps already beaten) there. Probably not a hand I would call with there either.Nice bluff.
TheIceman05 0
Wow. I must be a terrible poker player. I'm calling with top-two there all day. Ice
The Student 0
My brother, who was at the table at the time thought it was crazy to fold two pair here. I agreed at first but the more i thought about it the more i thought it was a ok lay down.
