I've never had spam before. Anyone care to comment on what it tastes like? I hear it's terrible, but does it taste like ham at all?
My grandparents used to feed it to me as a kid its absolutely disgusting. Kinda tastes like Bologna though.

I've heard it's salty, but I refuse to actually put it in my mouth long enough to find out.

It's terrible plain and without heat, which is what it was designed for... wartime food in the field that didn't need to be heated and wouldn't spoil. But if you bake it... I think it taste pretty good... very much like salty ham. My mom made a casserole with potatos au gratin with slices of spam on top and bake it for an hour... it was awesome.
