As far as i have seen the poker rooms in vegas don't really "give" comps. I was speaking to a lady at a table i was playing at and she said you have to ask most of them. What is the standard comp you can expect in a vegas poker room..? free buffet...room upgrade....I mean for the avg. player on vacation playing the 4/8 limit. Are some better than other for comps.??When in vegas i usually play 7-8 hrs. a day.some days 12 hrs.

Please tell me your kidding. Room upgrade? Free buffet? If your real lucky they might give you a discount on the snack bar at the Golden Nugget if you can prove you played 4 hrs. Otherwise forget about it. I think Bellagio will give u discount breakfast or something. Remember they don't make any real money off one player in a casino, in fact cardrooms are hardly that profitable compared to the rest of the casino games. They don't need incentives to get people into their rooms. Go to TUnica if you want poker comps.

google 'vegas poker rooms' I believe. It should give you a list of what casinos spread what games, and what their comp rates are.

poker comps LOLThe only reason they keep the poker rooms is so people will come there and then lose on the wheel or craps... To casinos, apoker room is much like a good comedian/music act, they dont expect to make money off of it.. they just hope to get people in to waste money on a table game...I asked a friend of mine who works in the casino business why they dont support at least the regulars...He said that they like tourists and recreational players anyway because the regulars are cheap as all hell and are always the people calling over the floor people and complianing to no end...A generalization of course but I took it for what it was worth...

i think at 6 hours of play time the Wynn Hotel will give you a room rate of $129/night..........
...weekdays. On weekends it is $199.But this is still well below their usual rate. And yes you get it even if you only play 4/8.In addition you get $1 per hour on your players card. Most limit it to 6 or 8 hours per day. At Wynn it is unlimited hours.Compared to what you may get if you play $100 a hand at BJ this is of course peanuts. But as a 4/8 player I think you may get more than a small stakes BJ player. Have you ever tried to even get a buffet comp after 4 hours of $25 / hand BJ at a major strip property? You get it ... but most of them make you feel like a beggar. Not to mention that you don't get anything on your room rate as $25 BJ player. Not at a strip property. What I like with the poker comps is that you exactly know what you get.Shadow

Wow that really sucks with the deal you get overthere...I live in Denmark nad went to Romania with at coulple of friend last week in the intention of playing poker. Romania has a very liberal gambling policy, so there is a casiono on every corner in Bucharest.Well well back to the point. We contacted a casino downthere before we went, because we would like to here how the pokeraction was, and it ended up them offering to pick us up in the airport with a limo and arranging very cheap 4 stars hotelrooms for us. Only if agreed to play poker at their casino, so we palyed 10-20 all week at casino palace, and with free bar and food all day and cheap room in was a very fun "holiday" And we got dead drunk every ninght of course..

Before you go, call the poker room of your hotel and tell them you want a poker rate for your room, they will tell you what to do. When you show up, go to the room, get your card and have them sign you in and out each time. As for food, just remember who you talk to originally and just be friendly with them. When you're hungry, go find them and tell them you'd like to get lunch / dinner etc...they usually never have a problem with it.Hell at the Mirage, they usually ask me what restaraunt I want to go to and call ahead for me. It's all about asking and being friendly with them

The Imperial Palace has the best comp policy I've found in Vegas...$3 an hour straight up. The money can be used for anything in the hotel...rooms, food, etc. The room is soft and spreads exclusively low-limit (2/4 limit and 1/2 no limit), and the competition is fairly soft especially on weekends.
