Best Alternative To Stars And Tilt

Recommended Posts

Have took an extended lay off from online poker due to a crazy work schedule and various other reasons. I want to start playing online again, but was wondering if there is a good option besides Starts and Tilt? Thanks in advance.

Is there a reason you dont want to play on these sites?IMO there isnt any other option that compares..UB cheats, Party Poker has no action. All the other sites cant come close to rivalling the big two..Just my opinion.

I've played on several other sites and none compare to PokerStars imo with Full Tilt being a close 2nd. If I had to play somewhere else for some reason I would probably play on Carbon Poker or one of the other Merge sites. Their software is pretty decent and the field is fairly soft. They now have a decent player base but nothing like Stars or FTP. If you're playing cash there is plenty of volume for running several tables at most stakes and the software is very multi-table friendly. The MTTs are decent but have small guarantees. If you want to grind sngs then you'll need to stick with Stars or FTP since no one else has the volume to fill enough sngs for the most part. PokerTracker3 works on the Merge network also. Cake has really lost a huge portion of their volume due to Players Only and Sportsbook moving to Merge and Doyle's Room moving the same network as True Poker. So I don't know that I would even bother with them. As said above I would steer clear of UB or Absolute. Bodog software is pretty bad and I don't think they have a big field either. If you aren't US you have other choices but I can't help you there.

Thanks for the input. Just thought maybe there was something newer or better out there than Stars or Tilt. Might check out some of the others here. Thanks again.
Like serge asked, why aren't you just using PS or FT?

If you twisted my arm, I'd probably say RPM Poker. It's a Merge site, but don't play on Doyle's Room, they've had some issues with paying out rakeback. (If you're planning on getting it... as you should)

How to Play No Bad Beats Poker*When playing a No Bad Beats Poker* game, you’ll get your entire wager refunded from the pot whenever you take a qualifying Bad Beat. Standard ring-game and tournament rules then apply. In order to qualify for a Bad Beat in a pot, you must satisfy the following conditions:You must be playing at a No Bad Beats Poker* table or tournament At least one player in the pot must make an All-In wager At the time of the All-In wager, your win probability (for that pot) must be greater than the Bad Beat Cutoff % posted in the table description (i.e., 70%). You cannot fold at any point in the hand You must lose the contested pot (i.e., cannot hold the high hand at showdown). Each main and side pot is evaluated separately for qualifying Bad Beats. After all players with qualifying Bad Beats have been refunded their wagers, the winning player (i.e., high hand) is then awarded the remainder of each pot.So if you win as a result of a bad beat you have to refund the other player his money. This can't be real.

Yes I should have also said if you decide on Carbon or another Merge site be sure to download through a rake back site, l use ratetherate.com for Cake and Carbon. I don't know if it's all the Merge sites but Carbon pays 35% rakeback.

Thanks again. That's one of the main reasons I wanted to change, to get rakeback. I started my stars and tilt accounts proir to rakeback (or at least prior to me knowing about rakeback), but have had those accounts pretty much since they started.
