One Last Question Before Signing Up....

Recommended Posts

Ok...I am really keen to sign up to pokervt and I think I most probably will...I have been doing a lot of reading through the forums and I have one last question...At the moment I only play online...this is because the closest casino to me is 4 hours drive...I sometimes go to home games but I mostly play online. My question is...how much of the content is targeted towards online poker?? I suppose you could divide the content up into 3 sections?? 1. Online2. Live 3. BothIs this right??Any info would be much appreciated..Cheers

There's content geared towards both at present - personally I think the best content so far is geared towards live play. Some of the online stuff is good, especially the larger buy in MTT stuff - I think the low limit online section cash + SnG needs work though personally to match the quality of the higher buy in material... as someone who joined it more for smaller/micro buy in i'm a little disappointed tbh, but I wouldn't hesititate to recommend it for live material

I think the low limit online cash stuff is very good. Have they added anything for sngs yet?I actually haven't been as impressed with the online tournament videos yet, although I will admit I've probably only watched 3-4 of them so far. Mostly been focused on Daniels small ball course (which is great for deep stack online/live tournaments) and BooostedJ's vids, which are great. If you have the money to invest in pokervt, I think it's a great investment. Also, although there are obvious differences between online and live play - I mean, it's still poker. Most of the concepts apply to both.

I am mostly (like 95%) an online player and I can take the concepts and apply them directly to online play. When Daniels talking about small bal,l notice how often he mentions things like, this works well if you are deep stacked, and most of the situations he is discussing also have both players having big stacks. I find playing rebuy tournaments allows for good practice playing small ball since after the typical rebuy period, you have 10K plus in chips and blinds are at 100/200 giving you ample chips to practice small ball. Someone also mentioned the deep stack online tournaments are great practice for small ball also :)One other thing...poker is poker, online or live..correct decisions have to be made regardless, and becoming a better post flop player is what pokerVT teaches really well also. It gives you confidence in every hand you play in.good luck at the tables

I think the total opposite, but everyone has their own opinions. When you watch the tournament stuff, like the Sunday Million replay - there's a wealth of info, in particular hand ranges for position, calling ranges in relation to stack size etc that just isn't included in the low stakes cash stuff.I'm sure it'll get better with time as the VT team do seem to take on board what's being suggested, but I don't think some areas are as good as others are (sadly they're the main one's im interested in at the mo')
