Strugling With Confidence....and Running Real Bad....need Advice

Recommended Posts

Well guys and galsI need some help here. I've been running real bad lateley...actually for about 6 weeks now playing 2 5 NL Live at my local casino. I've probably lost 8 grand over this time period and I just can't seem to get anything going. I'm not hitting any flop and it seem I'm always up against it. The previous 8 months before I've won more then 50 grand, bad beat jackpot included, but since then everyone has my number. What advice do yo have for me. Should I tighten up my game to frogs butt standard until I come out of this funk or what? I feel I'm stressing alot about logging wins because I'm going to have to deal with the taxes of the Jackpot at the end. My bankroll is currently at 9 g's, and was at about 18 g's two months ago. I just really need some help here on what you think I should do.Bulls

Take a little time off to regroup and ease your mind. If you have been in a real slump lately and trying to book a win every session then you may be opening up a bunch of leaks in your game. Maybe your pushing small edges or mediocre hands due to the fact that you are trying for that win so hard. Take a step back, review your play, take notes and analyze what your doing now to what you were doing when you were winning. It is tough to take home a profit when your not hitting flops but there might be more to your loses then that. You just need to take a little bit of time off, refresh and get back at it with a clear head and when your not trying to make up for lost chips every single session. Maybe drop down to a lower limit so you don't take such a substantial hit if you do lose and then it won't be as stressful for you. Take 25% of the remaining funds and put it in a bank account and use the other 75% as your bankroll so that when the taxes come you atleast have something and dont have to worry about going busto and paying taxes as well. Be smart with the money, suck up the ego and drop down a notch or two until you figure out what is wrong with your game.Just my 2 cents...Best of luck!

About the Tax issue......talk to someone who really understands taxes, but it is my understanding that if you keep good accountng of your losses and wind up losing more than you won, you shouldn't owe net taxes.
