The Coolest Place I Have Ever Played Cards.

Recommended Posts

So I found a little flyer/rave card for this gaming supply shop called double deuce in chandler AZ. I kinda wondered if this place was legit, they offered live cash and tournaments with professional dealers rake free almost nightly. I went in for the first time last night, they had about 16 people getting ready to start a 25+ rebuys tourney, I hoped in and started talking to the owner chuck about how the place is run, and basically said that it is a "live social game" and he doesn't take a rake, so he gets around the laws somehow. cool. after the tourney which I luck boxed my way into first for 385, there was a full 4/8 with kill ring game. All the usuals said that it can get up to two or three tables. and they run whatever limit people feel like playing. So if your in the valley I would recommend checking it out. No spam intended, I am just a card player that thought this was a cool place. check out there website for a schedule of their games. http://www.doubledeucegaming.com/

for sure spam, and by the way double deuce is a little too close to 2+2 for my liking especially with the 2 2s on your page ... just saying

In Colorado there are a number of similar places that used to be in operation. The key being that they are no longer operating, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation has raided all the places as well as some of the companies that do the free poker in bars. These guys in Arizona will eventually be shut down or robbed, maybe even both. They claim to be legal, using the premise of some social type of gathering where they just happen to be playing poker. Even if they don't rake the games, but charge any type of membership fee, either nightly, monthly or annually, it is still illegal. Eventually it will be shut down, usually when the local indian reservations find out about it (they tend not to like these rooms taking away from their buisiness - and they are highly influential based on tax revenues that they generate). If you continue to go, be careful not to have to much money in play, so that when they do get raided you are not out to much money.By the way, I used to play in a few of the rooms in Colorado Springs, I was there one night when 3 masked guys with shotguns managed their way in. No one was hurt but I was out about $450 as well as all the other players in the room losing a total of $8K +. These rooms are a perfect target for robbbers as there is more cash to be had then any bank, gas station or liquor store.

I've actually heard of this place and it sounds very cool. I'd like to know how often a game like 1-2nl or 1-1 nl gets going??... because all the home games I know of are either too small or too big. Casino AZ spreads $5-150 and although it is a ridiculously juicy game, I'm not properly rolled for it.
