SilentButDeadly3 0
I guess I just don't know exactly what I'm doing wrong besides not running good. It could be because I've made it in the last 20% of the field like 7 straight tourneys and only cashed once. All 7 tourneys I lose a 70/30 or 80/20 for all my money and usually for a ton of chips and the person I lose my chips to goes onto finish in the top 3 (in every tourney except one costing me around 10k which is quite a bit for a college kid such as myself. And as I'm typing this AA < KK obv). Then I notice all these sweet scores by Waco, JC, etc. I know they're sick, sick players. But I mean how profitable are MTT's in the long run? I've been virtual sweating them thru cardplayer, pokerwire, or whatever and I just notice how sick they run. For instance, in one of the WPT Prelims Waco won (I think the first, where he went HU with Shulman), he won 2 flips and 2 20/80's (underpair vs overpair) when all of his money went in and he sucked out. The chance at winning all of those is around 1%. Not very good odds. And for Waco to be chip leader now, just from what I've seen, he's had to win 2 30/70's for all of his money. The chance at winning both of those is 9%. Maybe I'm just a hater or I'm pissed because how terrible I run and then I'm jealous of how sick other people run. But I see all these posts about how "impressive" these guys are playing and whatnot. And it is impressive. The numbers Waco puts up, winning 3 WPT prelims is a feat few have accomplished. But it just seems like he kind of got ridiculously lucky to get where he was and eventually negative side variance will catch up to him and it will hurt bad.I think I'm just babbling at this point and I am kind of liquored up, so you can ignore this if you wish because it's kind of a rant. And before I get bashed and whatnot, I just wanna say I know Waco and JC play well, but it just seems like to do well in tournaments you need to run well too which is something out of your hands and I feel like I play well even tho I'm a nit, I just don't run well. In the words of the fantastic 4 dude, FLAME ON!
suicideking 0
MTTs involve a huge aspect of luck. If you can't handle that, play cash. Blinds don't go up. Its something I'm trying to deal with now. GL.

Zach6668 513
If you don't care about the "tourney fame", play cash games. AINEC.MTTs are profitable over the long run, just like any form of poker, but the variance is insane.
