when i first started, i tried the play money tables and found that they gave me a poor representation of how the game is actually played profitably - it gave me a false sense of being good, which caused me to get ate up when i made my first deposit. i found it much more useful to deposit a little money and try out the micros, where i learned quite a bit towards helping me to be a winning player... there's no substitute for real money being on the line, even if it is only pennies.

hello.i'd think that a check would be the optimal move here. he has given you the showdown for free - if you appear tentative, or bet a smallish amount, you could set yourself up to be reraised by a sneaky opponent, and considering that you have no reads on him i would think if reraised that you would have to fold in this case. check down, and see what he has called your pot-sized bets down with.
