  1. I completely agree with you, however the issue for me is that the nearest legit game is 60 miles away. However, since I travel extensively for business, I do get the chance to play elsewhere.I'd try a bus trip. they usually end up paying you $10 to drive you there and take you home. Not the coolist way to travel but my car sucks. For me it is the time away from family. I guess that is why I enjoed reading Ace On The River by Barry Greenstein. He puts family before playing.

  3. So when you play such low limits is it more to gain experience or profit. Doesn't seem like much profit unless you are playing a bunch of tables at once.
  4. Does anyone else besides me can't win worth beans online, but does pretty good when playing live? I have played in CA, MT, CT, OR, WA and have always been on the plus side with the exception of once in CA when I think I got scammed by the locals. Thank goodness it was only 200 bucks. I just struggle playing online. Any thoughts?
  5. I think the thing that is missing here is when you travel on the road quite a bit for your career such as DN and I (although I have to work for my money ), the wife who stays home has to be a special person. When I am on the road I meet old friends all the time, heck, I just plain meet folks on airplanes, hotel bars and places to eat and I tell my wife all about my adventures. It takes a special kind of lady to be the husband of a road warrior. There is a lot of trust involved for both people. When I leave on a trip, my wife could very easily be throwing a crack party at my house and I m
  6. While I agree that proffesional sports player should be helo to a higher accountabllity, I think we need to wait and see what the facts are of the case. I have joined in many office pools and had no idea if the guy running had mob connections or not. If I have a ring of friends, I still may not know who is connected to what and I may still decide to place a bet. This is looking more and more like bad judjgement on those who are involved. I am sure just as a poker player needs to be on guard with who he/she assciates with, so does a sports player or any high profile type. Just my two cents
  7. Well, do what the rest of the world does. Hang out on the rail and wait for him to bust. Then when he is dejected and walking back to his wife's wating arms, go for the intercept and asked for his autograph. That was sarcasm.Brad
  8. A lot of times I will play in those free rolls as I am playing in a ring game. My problem with ring games is that after about 10 minutes of folding every hand my ADD(Attention Defeceit Disorder) takes over and I start playing like crap. If that happens, I just play like crap in the free roll and then I am playing like everybody else. Sometimes, I also play those free rolls for practice and to experiment with new ways of playing. Also, I use them to test my patience and work on my ADD.Brad
  9. I have been playing online for about a year now. I don't have the chance to play often in a casino as the closest one to me is 1.5 hours away. I think that online play is equivelant to no foldem holdem for the most part, so I don't think it is a true test of a poker player's skill. I do admit that I have lost more then I have won in online play, but that is more due to my lack of patience then anything else. I have started to work on that. My question is: Do most players find a difference between online play and casino play? Does having actual chips in front of you make you play tighter
