  1. well, I wouldn't have been so apprehensive about it had he not had me beat the whole way through with KK while I drew to a 10 or a Q making every single bet I made EV-or a K or 9....which means your total equity in a seven-way or five-way pot was enough to make the bets +EV......aseemI'm sorry I meant a 9 or Q, not 10 or Q. You're right, the K is also an out, but in retrospect my outs after the turn were the 3 offsuit 9s, 2 Qs, 2 Js (which I don't think are real outs), and 2 Ks (which might chop)so a I have 18ish% of winning the entire pot assuming the Js are actual outs and that the Ks don'

  3. I lost to UTG who has KK one of which was the spades for the nuts. Why he played so passively all the way through with all these draws and didn't raise on the river with the nuts, I'll never know. I guess I just figured I overthought the whole thing to give myself excuses to raise and wanted to see if this was standard play.

  6. I'm assuming here that he has a tight enough image that people will have *some* respect for his raise. Now assume he does what I did (raise the flop), and gets two cold callers and a call from the original raiser (because everyone here is a calling station). Now the original raiser has to be worried about this raise and 2 cold calls (getting sandbagged by a cold caller?) so I'd say he's unlikely to bet out in front of screetch on the turn if he's not a complete donk.IMHO, there's a 50/50 chance that a flop raise buys you a look at the river. So you'd end up putting in a SB on the flop rather
  7. FWIW here are the results:Hand 1===========I won, villain mucked. I think he was on either a baby pair with a draw or Ax clubs (possibly suited connectors that hit top pair with a draw to the straight?). There's not much else that makes sense for him to limp in with and cap the flop, then just call the rest.I would have probably called then check/called down had he raised my turn bet.Hand 2===========Winner was the CO who showed A2:heart: for the straight. UTG+2 mucked, but I assume he did have the K.Hand 3===========I won, with the villain showed AQ, which is what I had him on (I figured AK,
  8. I'd rather leave money on the table in this situation than be drawing to 3 outs even on an exceptionally loose table. If anything the high VPIP would tell me that there's a good chance that there's someone else is playing A-rag off (where there's a good chance their rag is better than my rag)
  9. Take my advice with a grain of salt because you're a more experienced player than me but:you're playing A3s for the flush, not the aces right?Once an ace hits though, I'd want to check where I stand.so I would raise the flop, fold to a reraise. Any cold calls also means I don't add any more money and fold to any bet on the turn/river.That could be weak on my part but I figure with any calls I'm way more likely to be behind than ahead so I'm ready to dump my cards unless I make Aces up on the turn or river.
  10. I think your play is good, don't see anything glaringly wrong.I would probably just call the river raise rather than 3-bet it, though that may be weak on my part.
  11. Well the logic might be that you are perceived as weak. Since the player in early position is willing to make a call for one bet, and figures that you;re weak, he would rather bet thinking you'll call instead him check/calling. If you don't reraise him, the play works and you have no clue where you stand on the river, thereby likely saving bets or even getting you to fold. That or he's a donkey.

  14. Alright, Alright, I suck and I'm a fish.I've been on a dowswing lately and I think it's made me tentative with a lot of decisions.
  15. I really wanted to bet the flop, but then I thought my preflop 3-bet and all the callers would lead to one of the following:1) everyone folds, I win the hand then and there, with a small pot2) everyone calls, then I'm susceptible to a ton of draws and maybe lose a big potI figured situation (1) was more likely and I'd take my chances that the turn doesn't give anyone a better hand than mine and then bet out with big bets rather than small bets on the flop. Now is this a horrible play at a higher stakes table? Yes, undoubtedly. As a matter a fact, I would have certainly bet and probably
