  1. oh yeah, i know the x2, x4 rule....36% for the flush draw...i think i'm confused with the "2 to 1, 3 to 1" references...when we say "2 to 1", does that mean, percentage wise, 33%? 1 to 1 means 50%? 3 to 1 is how much percent?hilarious that basic poker terminalogy/concepts that i dont fully grasp yet...
  2. omg...for a flush draw with 9 outs, i've always thought that i make it once for every 2 times i missed on the flop (9 clean outs)...is that WRONG? i'm gonna shoot myself if i am...lol...
  3. Funny thing, I dont play online. Yesterday, there was a player whom I've played with before, and we are friendly. He's a big online player, tournaments only, and multi-tables like 20 tables at the same time - which is crazy to a live player like me. Anyways, we've had multiple sessions where we've run HUGE bluffs on each other...and the first hand, I called him light. I had 77 and raised, he called in BB. Flop i c-bet, he calls, turn goes check check, and river he bets out about 3/4 pot. usually i fold, but i didnt want to lose first hand im in, and cause it's him, i called him. Board h
  4. Well, if i have 9 outs, i'm 2 to 1 to hit the flush right? Two all ins, plus my all in, doesn't that make it correct?
  5. Yeah, the pot odds justify it as well if I'm drawing to the only flush draw. I really think having the 4heart is the cincher...Does it matter that after MP shoved, he walked away from the table....i think this usually indicates a draw..
  6. I like these both...especially the bolded...i'm going to do this all the time now...
  7. I appreciate the bluntness...i really do. And i would agree with your above analysis with your regular normal players.....but He's an extremely aggressive player who came to gamble. Both MP and MP+1 are aggressive, but MP+1 is much more crazy. Now it's more likely for MP to have a set that MP+1. But like I had previously said, he probably would have bet for value, even on this board. My image (which i should have included) and range, is mostly tight agg, with the occasional airy like hand...so if they are thinking, they would put me on an overpair, maybe two overs. So most of the time th
  8. You ever playing in a live game, and become friendly with other ppl at the table...and sometimes, one of them will say, "You're a good player...where do you play?" or something along that lines. Basically telling you that they think you play well, etc. How often would say it's a level? When bad players say it to me, i usually believe them...but when it's a player that i think is actually good, it makes me think they're levelling me...I know it's a dumb question..but do any of you ever do this as a level? I know when I tell a player he's good (which isn't often since I dont want a player t
  9. I forgot to post this hand....this was a continuation of my $5/5 sessoin a few weeks ago. If you read hand 3, you'll see that i was playing an aggro maniac, who put me in a tough spot with a pair/flush draw. He put me all in on the turn, and showed 5/7, for same pair, open ended straight draw. His kicker didn't play, so I was free rolling to the flush (but he did have the 6 outs to the straight)...but i didn't call his all in bet on the turn. So anyways, this hand happens a few orbits later. FULL RINGMP limps $5 (stack is $500) - this player is :heart:aggressive and loooseMP + 1 raises
  10. i think raising flop doesnt get as many folds as raising turn does. aLl tens will call.
  11. yeah, i'm over analyzing....but the A does make it easier to let go of the hand..
  12. It's not uncommon for a BB raiser to raise from the BB, with a hand like 77, KQ suited, etc. and fire a C-bet. So, it's not uncommon for someone to raise with nothing but overcards if she thinks i'm bluffing. Now, if i call her raise, she thinks i think she's bluffing right? If that's the case, once the A hits, there is a strong possibility that the A hit her range right?I do it all the time...(not all the time, but i will raise a preflop raiser, if the board looks right, and I think they don't have a piece of it)...But i defintely see where you are comign from...
  13. Ok, if you've read hand #1 and #2, this one occurs about 3 hrs later...it's not related, but let me tell you, 2 guys sit down. 1 of them i'm familiar with, is very aggressive. However, the other one, takes aggression to a whole NEW level. I, personally, have never played with someone so aggressive. He proceeded to raise 10 hands in a row to $40, winning almost all of them. He called a player's all -in of $200 with 8/3 offusit (he lost that one). So, after folding quite a bit to his raises, I make a questionable call from the BB. I think the stacks are deep enough to make this call okay,
  14. I can see your pov...but my call on the flop could represent a hand like a 9, j/9, q/9, 9/8, etc. I think it puts her in a tough spot, especially when she knows that I will fire on river if no spade hits (if she puts me on a 9).
  15. I think, because she still bets when the A rolls off...that's what i think rumsey is referring to....
  16. She would defnitely have raised JJ pre-flop, not sure about 99/77. I had to edit the positions a bit...she was sitting about 5 places to my left, so she was mp+2 instead...but that doesnt really change anything, as she was the one entering the pot...As is, i think i should release on the flop, but definitely the turn as said by you... and by you too....i didn't fold quickly, but i did fold...lol...QQ/JJ would definitely have raised pre. I thought maybe, she was deciding if the A gave me a set, or if she was trying to pretend that she was scared of the A...later on in the session, i asked her
  17. So, if you read hand 1, this hand occurs about an hr or so later, same villain/female.MP + 2 (villian) calls $5 (stack is at $700 ish)Cutoff calls $5 (loose agg player) ($400)SB checksBB/hero checks (A 7 ) (my stack is just above $600)Flop ($20)3 9 10 SB checksBB checksMP + 2 bets $30Cutoff calls $30BB calls $30Turn ($110)9 BB checks (maybe i could fire here representing the 9, but i decided to go for a check raise if i didn't get the free river)MP + 2 bets $100Cutoff foldsBB raises to $220UTG + 2 calls $120 (she tanked for about 45 sec)River ($550)4 Hero?At this point, I have about $3
  18. Ok, this is from a $5/5 session, and i think a few of the hands were pretty interesting...at least for me. I'm about 60 minutes in, bought in for $500. My stack is about $600, when this hand comes up. Full table.MP+2 calls $5 (female, tight aggressive, hasn't been invovled except for 1 hand). ($900 stack)Cutoff calls $5 (no reads really) ($700)Button calls $5 (old man, not a good player, loose) ($200)SB checks (seems like a tight aggressive player) $1000BB/Hero raises to $40 - K K ($600)UTG + 2 calls $35Cutoff calls $35Button calls $35SB foldsFlop ($165)3 7 9 Hero bets $80 (I should h
  19. i raise turn...and bet after his check on river
  20. Yes, usually that is the case...i was basing this assumption on his past AA/KK hands. He was on fire...he must've got AA/KK at least 6 times minimum when i was there (and i was only there for about 3 hrs MAX).
  21. If there is a spossibilty he has A/K, A/Q, i move in. Unless i'm positive he has an overpair here, i'm moving in.
  22. Ok, here's another one...lots of ppl at the table thought I did the right thing...but then again, i dont think so...not really sure. it's 10 handed, just didn't put in the foldsUTG - raises to $20 (she's a tight, a little too tight, aggressive player) ($175ish left)UTG + 1 calls $20 (no reads really, a bit aggressive) ($450)MP+2 calls $20 (loose aggressive, has bluffed off his stack twice now) ($350ish)Cutoff/hero calls $20 - 6 6 ($325 left)SB raises to $170UTG foldsUTG + 1 foldsMP + 2 foldsHero?SB/villain has been on a heater. There is a STRONG possibility he has two overs. His raise is
  23. I'll just get right into it... the fact that 1 limper chooses to call my $20 raise, and the other goes all in for $40 after my raise...the all-in shorty has a wiiiiide range....and the small chance he has me dominated...anyways, this is the hand:UTG - calls $5UTG + 1 calls $5foldfoldfoldCutoff/hero raises to $20 ($340) - K 7 Button foldsSB calls $20 ($300ish)BB calls $20 ($500ish)UTG calls $15 ($600ish)UTG + 1 goes all in for $40 totalHero decides to raise all in $340I figure, $80 in dead money (which is my $20 + the other 3 callers) + $40 (the shorty stack). That's $120 to my $340 raise...
