  1. Do you really make 1k a night? I need to know the everyday no limit players strategy to winning because the guys at my local card club win about 1k a night as well playing $2/$3 no limit. I do decent in no-limit but i never won more than $500 in 1 session.
  2. Thanks. I appreciate all your help.
  3. Great advice! you & everyone else. So i guess I'll be playing $.5/$1 games. It's really hard because I built a $3,000 bankroll from 3/6 LHE live. I paid a $1,200 hospital bill which might have put me on tilt trying to win the money back and lost about 1/4 of my bankroll and no i just bought a computer which was about $700. I'm just hoping that it's possible to build a bankroll in $.5/$1. I already have SSHE by Sklansky but I kindo f scanned through it. I think my problem now is that I now play a lot pf drawing hands, trying to crack other peoples bigger hands, kind of just playing lo
  4. Really useful advice! I do feel like i lost my discipline in playing poker. I really don't know where to draw the line from loose play(calling, drawing, bad starting hands) and playing too tight(Phil's top 10). Well I am starting online poker this week and since my downswing and my new computer i have a $200 budget. Should i stick to Phil's top 10 in .5/1 games?

  6. Just wanted to know if anyone can relate to this. When i first started playing in poker rooms i lost $750 in only two sessions but after that I began to go about 2 to 3 times a week for about 10 weeks playing 3/6 LHE untill my bankroll reached about $3,000. It was weird because it really felt like i could never lose. All of a sudden i went on a big downswing and lost about $300 then $200 then $300 then win a few times then lose big again untill my $3000 bankroll became about $700. Have i been on tilt? Any advice or suggestions? I feel like I can't win like i use to and my game is just ba
  7. Hey all. I just bought a computer so I am on a completely tight poker budget. What tables should I play with $200? Is 1/2 limit hold em crazy? or $25 max no limit hold em? What about the Omaha tables, are they hard to beat? Please give me your input if you play online poker. Thanks!
  8. ....if you can't beat 2-4 at your local casino, maybe you need to be, uh, thinking about starting a little lower online.IceI can't beat the 2-4 at my local casino but i can beat the 3-6....I think it's because of the rake why i never profit in 2-4.
  9. Very usefull advice. I guess the right thing to do would be to try the 2-4 tables first see how I do. 2-4 online should be a lot better than 2-4 at a casino because the casinos seem so unbeatable because of the rake. Thanks for the help!
  10. Hey guys, I am finally getting my computer this weekend and I will start playing on my party poker account. My question is.... I have a bankroll of about $1,100 and I understand that you need atleast 1,800 to play in 3-6 limit games. Would it be a really bad move to play 3-6 instead of 2-4 online? because I really don't like 2-4 and I'm used to playing 3-6 live at my local card room.
  11. because I'm still in the middle of reading The Notebook..
  12. I was in a no limit $1-$3 game and pick up 5-6 off suit on the small blind and limp with abot 6 others. Flop comes 7-8-9 rainbow! Well being under the gun I didn't want to just pick up the blinds with my straight so i bet $10 hoping that someone would raise me. The two seats to my left call and someone in late position raises me to about $40. I move all in for $142 more. I put him on a two pair or maybe a set... Well he has 6-10 and i can only tie....turn and river are blanks and I say bye. Was this move bad? How would you play it?
  13. Please explain how a raise that is not even 3x the big blind seem like a lot. The averages raise is 3 or 4 times the bigblind. I will always raise it 3x every time no matter what hand I have if I am opening the pot.It wasn't $3-6 io messed up....it is 2 on the button 2 for small blind and $3 for big blind
  14. Yah I mean if she wasn't bluffing then she had atleast a two pair or a set but I thought she was making a move on me because the board of 2,6,7 looked great to me. Well i still had 5 outs for the turn and 8 for the river... oh well, just gotta know when to fold em.
  15. What exactly did u buy in with anyways? You should have baught in for roughly that amount.. no??No i bought in for $100...I got busted though before that.. my KK vs. AK and Ace right off the flop busts me... but howcome earlier that day i got busted with KK against 2-6off when flop comes 2,6,7... Lady cold called a $15 bet with 2-6 off.i have no idea why she called, but i will tell u one thing.. your a tight conservative player, who buys-in for the minimum at a NL table. Your biggest advantage is waiting on hands. Now how can u maximize your profit with the min. buy in??You have to play your n
  16. You're right it wasn't. But it's the kind of hand that can win you a big pot in no-limit if you hit a good flop. Only good to play for a cheap flop.

  18. You know.. I feel his pain..but only because this stuff happens all the time.on another note!, That guy raised 20 with a J,9 off.. My first instict in NL games with guys like that., i dont care about money anymore. I'd rather lose the money i made, then sit there while this guy controls my table.I'd be all in with decent hands once i saw him raise.Yah but there are others at the table who just might have something... Don't let jerk offs put you on tilt
  19. Lesson is...you made a good fold.It was indeed a good fold but you gotta feel my pain...No I don't.Yes you do. You must feel his pain.He has to feel it! it's the only way........
  20. Lesson is...you made a good fold.It was indeed a good fold but you gotta feel my pain...With out this crazy guy in the hand I would have taken a flop.
  21. Last night I was playing $3-6 no-limit hold 'em and just ran my stack up to $400. A crazy man who has been opening every pot for atleast $15+ had me folding a lot of marginal hands pre-flop. He just ran his stack up to about $900 by bluffing and getting lucky. Well this hand hurt a bit....I was one off the button with 5D9D and folded because I knew i wouldn't get a cheap flop with the crazy player on the big blind. Well what do you know he opens pot for about $20 and got 3 callers. Flop: 6D7D8D....Holy crap! I folded a straight flush! So i keep silent and watch the action which which we
  22. What was the biggest pot that you ever took down that you thought you were beat and were actually surprised that your hand won? Here is mine....At a 10 handed 3-6 game i pick up QQ one off the button, suits didn't matter. Under the gun raise to $6, next guy raises to $9, next guy folds, next guy caps to $12 and two more people call before me, I call, button folds and both blinds call...LOL!!! So hoping to flop a set we see the flop....something like 278 rainbow...So action is check, bet $3, call, call, call, call, fold, fold i raise to $6, call, raise to $9, call, call, call, call, I cap to $
  23. Why is it that you need 300 bb for limit hold-em? so i need $1,800 to play 3-6 hold em? Is it so you can take the swings? What would be the proper bankroll for 3-6 no-limit $100 min., 200 max?Answers to any of these questions are appreciated....
  24. You're right. I really need to think as critical as players like you and pin point the reasons to fold, call or raise in a no limit game. I honestly thought that he was on a semi bluff. I'm a 3-6 player so i had no business at that table anyway but paid for trying....
