  1. I can't say I like the way he acts but I don't know the guy so I can hardly judge him on a few hours of TV and second hand reports on forums. As for him being a great player, again I don't know but he sure does seem like a gambling addict and to me that's hardly something to admire or aspire to.If someone wins $1,000,000 and comments how it would only pay off a few markers something is seriously wrong.
  2. I can't personally judge the guy because I don't know him. However he does have some serious issues and he certainly wouldn't be my first choice for a role model....Why is it that some many people wanna be mike, wouldn't they rather be winning players?
  3. What name is DN and Evelyn using?Chris Moneymaker $23kMarcel 25k
  4. "Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart - and you'll never walk alone, you'll never walk alone......"
  5. In that case us brits pay around: $7.614.5 x 0.94 = £4.23 x 1.8 = $7.61 a gallon
  6. Witha conversion rate of 1.9% for the pound against the dollar anyone looking to convert their winnings to GPB is going to be very unhappy. That's good.
  7. I'm still very much the beginner so it's not effecting me really. However if I wanted to make a living from poker I can imagine it would be very difficult. Even clearing £1000 a month I'd have to be making $1800 after transfer fees etc...
  8. Since we're looking at the practicalities of going pro [i'm far from that point] I'd be interested to know how my fellow country men are finding the currency rate...Just to pay my bills and have a little spare cash I'd have to make $2700 a month from poker because of the conversion rate - this must be a real pain for British pros.
  9. I divided it by 1.8 instead of multiplying, sorryAs always us poor brits get screwed over on price..... As well as petrol prices we pay a tax for using the road system [road tax] and now we have to pay to use certain roads [congestion charges].The government is even looking at tagging all cars and charging per mile.
  10. In the UK it's about 94p a Liter, doing the maths that's £3.57 a gallon. Thanks to a good currency rate between the pound and the dollar that's $1.98Seems good but that's only because the dollar is so weak, normally we get fleeced.Health insurance - now tha's something I'd hate to have to worry about. The NHS isn't as good as it could be but it does a good job considering.
  11. I need to get a life, but when this stuff happens it's better than TV.
  12. lol Just goes to show that when you're great at one thing you suck at others...Seriously man - you can't make music for shit.
  13. From a recent news section in online gambler someone had found Ivey in the NL 1/2 rooms at fulltilt going all-in every hand. Apparently when someone asked him why he said he was drunk and having a laugh. He bought in for $1000 and when that was gone did the same again....The waiting list for the room was 20 people long apparently....
  14. Well she's not my wife, we've been together almost 8 years and have two kids so girlfriend doesn't work either - partner seems to suit the bill.
  15. show me any couple who agree on and I'll show you a couple with a dull future - after all variety is the spice of life. Me and my partner don't agree on everything and I love her to bits as I'm sure DN loves Lori - religion and politics are best left out of most relationships!
