  1. Don't misunderstand--I'm not trying to argue you into the faith, which is quite impossible for anyone to do or to accept. I spent 23 years of my life (dis)believing as you do and was just interested in your opinions. My posts above were meant to serve as a credible starting point. So far we know what you don't believe, but other than your opinion of soteriology, not what you do believe. So, what is your worldview? For instance, your views of things like creation and epistemology? What/who would you consider a credible source to establish a moral framework?
  2. The question ( does that word scare you)? was a passing thought and in retrospect a bad idea. It certainly wasn't meant as an affront. You have to admit you're quite religious in your use of the "X", though you type 'jesus' often enough--I recognize the difference and get your point.Anyways, don't let that trip you up. You seem reasonably intelligent; I thought I'd start a dialog. But, we're going to have to agree on a reasonable standard of proof (i.e. something less ridiculous than centaurs lol). If you'd like to take this off-line, I'd be happy to give you my email address.
  3. You're correct on all accounts. Jesus did exist. Jesus was 100% man. He did die 2000 years ago. It's what happened next, and the fact He was also 100% God, that men have argued about since.Let's start with the obvious: Yes I'm claiming that Jesus was capable of being both all man and all God. While a complete proof is not feasable in this space, I will offer the following illustration.Refer to the story of Solomon's Wise Judgement (I Kings 3:16-28). To summarize, two women came to Solomon both claiming to be the owner of some property. As both pressed their claim, Solomon resolved to se

Interestingly, 'slavery' in first century Middle East and Mediteranean Europe was nothing like slavery as we understand it today. Then, young men not fortunate enough to come from wealthy or well established families apprenticed themselves to craftsmen as 'slaves.' They were given all they needed to live, including food, clothing, shelter, and wages. In exchange, they labored for and gave unfailing allegience to their 'masters,' until such time as they had saved enough of their wages to buy their 'freedom.' In terms we are more likely to understand, they were allowed to work off their room an

    John 14:7

Fair enough, I was off topic. The original question was, "Must you proclaim Jesus' name to get into heaven?" Thi is specifically answered in Romans 10:9-- "9 ... if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."As scripture supports scripture, refer then to an earlier passage in the subject book of John. Jesus has a conversation with a Jewish leader named Nicodemus:John 3:1-3'1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we kn

    John 14:7

Romans 1:18-23"18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were dar
