  1. Looks like a reopen... http://www.subjectpoker.com/2011/10/merge-accepts-us/
  2. Well here I go with my positive attitude "the cup is 1/2 full" attitude but the "Reid killed online poker's chances" article sounds like one's guy opinion, possibly valid opinion but still opinion. I posted the link in the legislation discussion skype chatroom and I'd love to know what Subject: Poker's take on it is. I'll let you all know if I hear other opinions.
  3. 3rd tonight in the $5 freeze out $750 gtd for $125 - not all profit after all my other bust :-)
  4. I haven't had anything to brag about since before Black Friday so I can't help myself, forgive me...Just finished 2nd in the Merge $3r $5.5K for $770. Funny thing is my roll was about $65 at the start of the night. Talk about bad BR management, don't do as I do if you're smart I've run like big ol dog dookey since BF with a few exceptions and this 2nd is my best finish in anything that paid much. I've won a couple of small things and had a few FTs but this is the best so far. I can playz 10NL again, weeee!
  5. Your 2nd question, online gambling around the world is loaded and I don't know about that many countries but what I do know... France and Italy have the strict in country rules but it's allowed and Stars was able to offer Poker there, honestly don't know about FTP. It's illegal in Switzerland but they don't enforce it and it's easy enough to move money. China has no regulation of much if any of anything but I don't honestly know whether it's legal, ignored or what but it certainly goes on unhindered. I think this is true of most East Asian countries. UK is pretty wide open and legal for all ty
  6. I'm honestly NOT trying to be an ass but I used to purchase all the specialty advertising items in my former job and it takes about 2 weeks to get shirts, hats and pretty much just about anything and about a week to send stuff out, so I really have no clue why it takes months to get prizes shipped out. Could someone explain?
  7. Just saw this thread on 2p2 and thought some of you non US players might be playing at an iPoker site. So if you don't already know they seem to be legally (according to their T&C) using bots in both cash games and MTTs. OFC it's rumors but rumors you all might want to be aware of:http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28/inter...249/index3.html
  8. I think (note: just my opinion) that these two winning their argument and a ruling that the UIGEA nor any other existing laws (1961 Wire Act, state gambling laws etc.) do not apply to poker, since it's a game of skill with only a small element of chance, would be the best thing for poker since Chris Moneymaker's WSOP win. It would basically put the ball in our court regarding legislation and regulation. Sites like PokerStars would hopefully be able to get a US license and regulation would be much less invasive since the government looses some bargaining chips. States would also have a much har
  9. Indicted Banker and Payment Processor Fight Federal Crackdown On Online Poker With Powerful Legal Papers: http://www.forbes.com/sites/nathanvardi/20...l-legal-papers/This article actually has linked to the papers:http://www.pokerstrategy.com/news/world-of...-Charges_52261/
  10. http://www.facebook.com/DOJ/posts/10150343692519030This is a post by Rich Muny on the DOJ FB page asking that they work with the FTP buyer to insure the players are repaid. The post has almost 400 likes, please click on the link and like the post. You can post your own comment as well. Thanks!
  11. In most cases unless they specially say online winnings they are generally talking about live winnings over all games played. You can go to Bluff Magazine to see players lifetime earnings and some of them also list online, some don't. Here's Daniel's for instance. See above, it has nothing to with online winnings usually. As said above they are generally talking about live winnings which generally have much higher payouts than online ones. Until Black Friday most of the big name players who played online played on PokerStars or Full Tilt and I'm sure the non US players are still playing o
  12. Those prison guys are gonna love Chris Ferguson's pretty long hair, poor guy!
  13. I have a kind of dumb question, but if you live in Canada can you not do e-check deposits and withdrawals to and from your Canadian bank account. When Stars was still in the US I always used e-check (FTP also) and I was just curious if this method was available in Canada.
  14. Poker petition is now over 4K, pot petition is over 30K - let's catch up with them!
  15. Whatever, I don't claim to be an odds or math expert by any means but 1.7:1 is about a 37% chance of catching so that is less than 50% chance but I suck at math so maybe I'm wrong but that's not what this thread is about and you are obviously easily annoyed over trivial things. Sorry to ruffle your sensitive feathers. If you'd like to educate me on my mistake please do so. :-) Now to get this thread back on track where it belongs, would everyone please sign the poker petition at the link above. Honestly all I care about is people in the US being able to play poker online again with proper legi
  16. Well damn did I miss something in the FCP rules that says one can't give express their opinions on discussions, I'm pretty sure I didn't but I should of realized that since the US is no longer a free country anymore I should of known freedom of speech was out too. You don't like what I say, don't read it - other than that back the **** off and get your head out of your ass - I'm entitled to my opinion and until Bob bans me I'm entitled to express those opinions. As I said most of those opinions are based on things I actually know something about, otherwise I state that it's just my opinion.I w
  17. I wasn't referring to uncooper at all, I should of made it clear, he was just asking for clarification. It was the "where does she get anything" comment I took exception to, silly me.
  18. Fair Play USA issued a statement a few days back and they highly stressed state's rights in choosing to participate in online poker. It's pretty likely (although yes to a point this is a guess but an educated one) that the bill FPUSA comes up with will very closely resemble the bill Harry Reid purposed last year which had a state opt in option and not the auto opt in. So it is somewhat speculative and definitely not fact at this point but based on their early statement I won't be surprised if that's how it ends up. “States and tribes have rights that must be protected by authorizing them to de
  19. Possible FTP investor...http://www.subjectpoker.com/2011/09/french-investors/
  20. Honestly, it's a double edged sword, the question is which side will turn out to be the sharpest. Let's hope it's the side that benefits us not screws us. The best thing we have going for us now is that Tom Ridge and a former FBI head have joined in with Fair Play USA to support legislation and regulation and the B&Ms are on board now too. The American Gaming Association has the money to pay the lobbyist to get what they want. After all let's not fool ourselves this is America, what the people want is irrelevant it's who has the most money to buy the politicians votes on a bill.
  21. It may be different since poker is gambling and considered by the moral police as wrong but traditionally when US citizens are scammed the general public starts crying out for regulations and protections to prevent it happening again. Hopefully there are enough sensible politicians (well that's too much to hope for but you know what I mean) and people that the same will prove true for online poker regulation. The key word here is the "poker site" is accused for scamming the people not people doing the scamming. I've talked with several people today who are active in trying to get legislation,
  22. On the surface maybe it seems that way, but one of the biggest arguments for regulation is to protect US consumers from offshore scammers, which is exactly how FTP is being represented here. Had regulation been in place this would have never happened. It's very apparent that poker players are going to play, legislation or not so this actually makes the argument for legislation much stronger. I'm not sure how to see it any other way really. Yes on the one hand it's another black mark against poker but actually it's really only a black mark on FTP who "took advantage" of US players.
  23. It does suck but all the news about it is actually a boom for the regulation argument. I just posted the AGA video calling for legislation on the poker legislation thread.
  24. AGA comes out with pro legislation video today, interesting timing huh?http://www.youtube.com/user/AmericanGaming...p;utm_campaign=
