  1. Moving in seems like we're handing our opponent money a lot of the time. What about a check/call line on the turn where we're only calling if he bets 1/2 pot or less?
  2. I generally agree that we should bet something on the turn, but if you agree with betting something, how much? That's the real question.
  3. Re-raise preflop, even if it's just a small re-raise. As played, don't call the all-in.
  4. I think pushing sucks. If I bet the same amount I'd bet with two pair or a set, I'd be betting the trouble number, around $25-30.
  5. If we push the flop, and he has a decision to call, he should be assuming we have at least AQ on that flop.
  6. If they hit that flop with AJ they should know they're trying to hit a 5 outer on the turn or river... Whether they still call or not is up to them.
  7. I don't have enough experience live to make a very good decision on this hand, so please discredit my answer...I'd fold if this happened online.
  8. If they hit top pair? No they wouldn't go away getting 3:1 on the flop. Would I want them to go away getting 3:1? Hell No, I'll take that extra action all day long.
  9. What's the max buy-in for this game? If it's $500, how did Button double his buy-in?
  10. As if 3:1 or 4:1 are right even if they both check down past the flop to hit two pair?Yes, I know I promised I wouldn't post again. And I am a ****ing liar.
  11. $100NL on UltimateBet (8 handed, 10max)Stack Sizes:Hero has $76Villain has $82Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is BB with 8 8 3 folds, MP2 raises to $3.50, 3 folds, Hero calls.Flop: 9 7 6 ($7.50, 2 players)Hero checks, MP2 bets $6, Hero raises to $16, MP2 calls.Turn: Q ($39.50, 2 players)Hero ???Read on villain is TAG who will c-bet everything. Is the check-raise on the flop standard? What do we do now on the turn?
  12. Yeah cause they flop two pair so often that 3:1 and 4:1 is worth a call to hit it.(sw)P.S. - Last post in this topic, I swear! Agree to disagree...
  13. I would really like to hear Daniel's thoughts on this hand. I hope he picks it for Daniel on Strategy sometime
  14. They don't both call often enough to worry about it. And even if they do both call, what's the big deal? We still have a great hand that we're going to be good with on most flops. Also, if they both call, it makes it even easier to get away from if an ace flops.
  15. Right, I wouldn't either, but what kind of line do you use on the river?
  16. If they have hands like QJs, JTs, T9s, we've made so much money by allowing them to incorrectly call preflop when they don't make two pair or a great draw. And... We aren't getting creative, we're getting value... This isn't a tournament. We are playing preflop poker with our half buy-in, preflop poker while on a semi-short stack doesn't just mean shoving when we think we have the best hand all the time. Most of what we're involved with in this hand happens preflop. There's a good article on a hand much like this one in CardPlayer somewhere where the writer (I think he was a pro) pushed all-
  17. If we give ourselves pocket 8s for this hand for a flopped middle trips, and the action stays the same, how does this change our line, if at all?
  18. It doesn't really matter here as we're behind either way.Does anyone like a line like this?Call turn.Hope they check if a 4th heart comes so you can check behind, fold if they bet a 4th heart, call a pot size or lower bet if it's not a heart.
  19. Yeah maybe they'd say that if I checked behind but... Here the preflop raiser has bet a flop that contains an ace, and they have a chance to raise with a flopped two pair or set hand there and probably get action... Granted, they could just be stupid =P
  20. Do people really do this with a turned flush that often? Do they get paid off often enough with a big pot-size bet on the turn/river by random opponents they don't have reads on for it to be profitable?
  21. $50NL on UltimateBet (9 Players at a 10max table)Stack Sizes:Hero has $48.50Villain has $51.75Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is MP2 with A K 3 folds, Hero raises to $1.50, 2 folds, SB calls, BB folds.Flop: A 6 8 ($3.50, 2 players)SB checks, Hero bets $2.50, SB calls.Turn: J ($8.50, 2 players)SB bets $8.50, Hero ???First orbit, and my first time in a pot to the flop at the table, no reads on villain. Also, if you suggest doing something other than folding on the turn, please give us a river line of action as well.
