  2. hey guys...Unfortunately when smash was on his quest of $50-$1000 I wasnt to interested. Well now I have started grinding away at the low limit tables on Absolute Poker and could really use the advice that he gave in those posts... A forum search of $50-$1000 brought up nothing and Smash has over 220 pages of posts... So if anyone could provide me with a link or something, I remember he had a blog at the time Thanks for all the help, and good luck at the tables Jack

  7. My own humble opinion...... First of all I think your opponent did a good job by "opening his mouth", and talking about your overs and getting you to call an all in with a very weak hand, I bet he was very happy to see you shove your chips in and flip over K-6 off suit. When you hear him talk about your overs do you immidiately put him on 5-5, 4-4,3-3, or 2-2? Is this the kind of player that would risk $40+ dollars on a small pocket pair? You talk about a variety of hands that you put him on, how many of those hands did you have beat? (Very few) How many did you see a race (4) and how many did
  8. with that flop and lke 370 in the pot (I think i said i raised to 160 + 60 blinds) I would probably bet like 120 to see where I was. This bet may even be for value. Anyway, if I get called I figure he has something, but now I have picked up outs to a flush plus an ace (if he doesent have a 3) and maybe even a Q is good. Now I am stuck and need a cheap river card

  11. This play has recently hurt me in home games and online tournaments. The situation can be seen in a variety of forms, here is one: blinds are 20-40 in a SnG I have 1500 (avg) and raise to 160 with A Q and get one player who is really loose and aggresive. We are out of position Board shows K 5 3 3 it's on us what is the best way to get a free card without commiting a lot of your chips or yourself to the pot. I am afraid if I check he will bet an amount that will be tough for me to call and if I bet a little he might sense weakness and raise me... I know there are many variables to conside
  12. Over the last few months I feel that my poker game has come a very long way and now I am one of the best players in my weekly group. A hand came up last night that still has me in shock. Myslef and the best player i know were heads up. I had K-K which was the first good preflop hand I had seen in a while. I made a standard opening raise and Mike (my opponent) tripled my bet. I came back with "I'm all in" and counted my chips. He sat back in the tank and finally said "You need a respirator dude, I fold" and flipped over Q-Q. My heart sank as i raked in the pot. My glaring tell that I can not qu
  13. So I just got knocked out of a homegame tournament at a buddys house and I have a question thats directed more to the advanced and more skilled tournament players. 18 man field, $10 buy in and we all started off with $30 in chips After about an hour I had my stack built up to about $60 with 15 left and the blinds at .50-$1.00 when the following hand arises: I have 8-9 on the button and call after it has been folded to me, I call, SB calls, BB doubles it, I call, and SB folds. Flop: 8-4-2 rainbow He checks to me and I bet out $4. He calls. Turn brings an off suit Q and again he checks to me, t

  16. Ive got two... I work in a restraung and everytime I go to put cups away I stack up about 3 rows of 6 cups, I push all the rows together, then I say "I reraise, Im all in, 25 more" and slide the chips (cups) onto the back of a shelf. My second one came this week when I vowed to take a 2 week break and it lasted 2.5 days
  17. To win a heads up match... I'd like to say I'd go with Ivey but with my life depending on it I might have to go with Hellmuth as much as he bitches he always does he seems to make the right reads and best plays, he has also won so much. Doyle is another solid choice, but gosh this is a tough one: Phil or Phil, its a coinflip with a slight edge to the white one
  18. I just have to get this one off of my chest, you all know the feeling... In the typical .25-.50 NL home game im up a good amount of about 50 bucks... I have $60 and M has $45 I am dealt J 3 in the BB and only the button and M who is a fairly tight player calls from the SB, so 3 players with $1.50 in the potFlop is 10 - 9 2 ... M checks and I bet $1.50 thinking I can just pick the small pot up right there with only the button (also a tight player) and M to worry about... Well I was wrong and M calls while the button folds folds. Turn is 7 now this is where I make my first mistake, aft
