I would like some insight into some positional plays people make . It's an aspect of my game I tend to not to focus on . I rarely try to steal blinds in a ring game . In a tournament yes , players seem to be tighter so success seems more likely . Is this a leak in my ring game ? Should I be making more positional plays to steal pots ? If I'm making a positional play I believe my hand needs a few ways to win . It can not just be a pure bluff . Sooted connectors and Ax seem to make sense to me , is this worth adding to my game . After Some deliberation I folded this hand . In hind sight I'm wondering if another angle could have been taken to win this pot . The enemy whose name I have as Conk is a very aggressive player , loose aggressive at that . In my eyes an above avg. player for these stakes . Think he just out played me here ? Should I have chased this draw ? Maybe reraised him, he had about $33 in front of him , I about $90 . I also thought he could be tilting a lil' , had suffered a bad beat a few hands earlier . I hate to say it but I play 30+ hours a week . I'm not a pro , just a construction guy whose laid off , I think my clock is stuck on 4:20 . I've built my roll from winning a freeroll and just decided to pick my game up a notch . I play NL ring games ,STT's ,and read everything I can about poker . Play well everyone !

I just did it to the same guy twice ! lolBet the flop hard , then min. on Turn.He came over the top and I over him .His pp 55 vs. my AA. Same thing a few hands later , I held Ax, and flop had one.Bet er hard he called ...you know the rest .... I like this play !

Tek , you said you'd raise 2-3xbb w/ 99 in the BB correct ?In your opinion I should be varying the size of my preflop raises ? I have been raising a consistant 4xbb , hoping to conceal the strenght of my hand . Is this something I may want to change ? Thanks for time and effort .

This hand took place online against very familiar opposition . It's a NL $25 max full ring game .$1 s/bb's . I'm in the bb having just joined the table . They are all regulars . Most LAG, a few rocks . Here it is :Her0 in BB (99) Four players limp in and SB checks to me . These guys play any thing I'm thinking , let's thin the field right ...I know pp's need 3 or 4 callers for +EV, but I'm trying to win that pot right there . Is this the wrong mind set ? Should I check and fit or fold if I don't flop trips ? any way...I raise Pot $6 on caller , LAG player calls .FLOP : 5 8 4 rainbow Hero : b

When is it ever correct to chase a flush or open ended straight draw in a NL ring game ? I feel this could be a leak in my game . If I hold the nut flush draw I come out firing a pot sized bet on the flop . Is this correct ?

The game is online NL 10 max. $50 max. buy in , SB,BB $1 . I'm UTG holding (AA*KK*AKs) , my action is a raise of $4 . (is this the correct amount to bet here ?) The table folds around to a player in middle or late position who reraises $x . Let's say I have no real read on player , how much of my stack should I call ? With AA*KK , would moving ALL IN be a proper play here ? AKs I'd call 10% of my stack ... any thoughts on that . Same as above but I hold (QQ*JJ*TT*AK) , would calling 10% be justified ... or should I lay these hands down . Like I said say I have no real reads on table

First let me thank everyone whose responded to my earlier posts . All insight and thoughts are appreciated . I try and learn from everything and everyone . A little background : I'm currently playing poker 40+ hours a week . I'm currently laid off and have chosen to become a student of the game . I'm grinding out a profit ,but not what I feel I could . My bankroll is small , being built from a $25 freeroll win to over 1k in a little over a month . I cashed out half around the Holidays and now planning on not touching it again till beefed up .
