  1. Now, I've been a bad boy and haven't read everything in this thread but...Reading DNs latest blogg made me appreciate our (Sweden's) healthcare. $86,000 for a test!!! I think you guys are missing the point. Some argue that since I'm paying for YOUR healthcare than bla bla...But "universal healthcare" is just a mandatory insurance. So for example car insurance, you are all paying so that if you get in an accident you will get some help. It's the same for healthcare, it's just the government insuring. Also, the reason why I feel comfortable with free healthcare (as we call it in Sweden) is that s
  2. Actually, I watched A-Team when I was a kid, no clue in which year but I'd say early nineties.
  3. I pity the fool that thinks the US has high taxes! If you do:Welcome to Sweden!(Ok we are only number two right now after Denmark but you still wouldn't like it)
  4. I was just reading Daniels blog. When did they start sporting 5 kings in the deck and how come Daniel didn't win with his four of a kind to the others boat? I'm lost...
  5. There are violent people on both "sides". I hope you realize that Muslims think Christians are as violent as Christians think Muslims. Invading Iraq and killing hundreds of thousands didn't make it better for either side.
  6. Trust me, I did not in any way mean to group ALL americans under the "ignorant" flag. That's why I intentionally put down "some". I know that the vast majority are sensible people.I was just amazed to read a CNN article about people at McCain rallies calling out Obama as a "muslim", "terrorits" and "arab". Also, someone had openly called out "kill him". I can say for sure that something even close to that has never happened in Sweden. Those that are stupid enough in Sweden to do such a thing would luckily not go to a political meeting.
  7. Well I wasn't serious at all with my first post and I basically put 2 min into research/thinking about it.What I really think is scary is that some American people think Obama is a Muslim. I even read a CNN article where people had said he was an Arab at a McCain meeting. I thought it was strong of McCain to forcefully deny that but I'm perplexed as to how ignorant people can be in a country such as the US.
  8. Well I wasn't that serious with the last line...
  9. Quote from Hitler: "As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice."And Mao and Stalin thought themselves Gods...
  10. I think the American people should boycott this election. You only have a choice between two Christians, and we all know the pain Christians have caused to this planet.- The Crusades:Over a couple of hundred years mostly European Christian crusaders tried to occupy and convert by force different parts of the world, mostly around this days Israel. Countless lives were lost in the name of God.- Hitler and Nazi Germany:Hitler and Nazi Germans were Christians. Millions of people died by direct or indirect actions caused by them. - George W Bush:President Bush is a devout Christian and is indirectl
  11. Frankly, I'm not overjoyed by your play although it isn't terrible. You are playing a big pot without knowing really where you stand. I would much more prefer calling on the flop and seeing if he fires again on the turn, trying to keep the pot small. The problem I see is that on the turn, as you say you should probably shove, but with a semi weak hand. I don't know how he plays, but he's gotta be extremely weak if he calls a check-raise that big with AK-AJ,KQ-KJ.
  12. Oh, never visit the general forum so I missed this.Congrats BG. Have fun in Europe this summer...
  13. You base all your responses on insult, isn't that getting old?
  14. Ok, I will remember you said that :DBut I just want to point out that the world cup of soccer isn't played by clubs but by nations
  15. That's an interesting point. Comparing Sweden and the US we give about an equal amount of our GDP (government plus private), I'll admit that I think the US are "better" but only by 0.5% of GDP at most. So, how come, we, as in Sweden, can give about as much as you as a percentage of our GDP but waste significantly less while having higher standards of living and at the same time reduced our pollutions to less than our 1990 levels? Are we miracle workers? Oh I forgot, we have a majority of atheist and agnostics so we don't believe in miracles. We "just do it" :POh and as a rebuttal to your excel
  16. Yeah I saw you too . I'm not too sure about that Sep deal. I'll be in Australia (yes I'm going to pay for carbon offsets for the flight) playing in the international cup of Australian Rules Football 'til Sep 10 and then I'll have to go back to work. Taking a train to Prague would be a 24-36 hour trip I reckon, that's a little too far for a dinner. no bad feelings I hope *Edit*I just had to add this after seeing your Tiger Woods videos. .
  17. On a per capita basis you might be right, I haven't seen any articles about it but I sure wouldn't be surprised if you are, indeed, the most giving people per capita. I know however that the US government spends a minuscule amount on foreign aid as a percentage of it's budget compared to other nations (see this and this). But when you also consider private donations (like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates plus the other millions of people giving to charity/foreign aid) you might climb significantly on the imaginary "giving" chart. However, you are ALSO, the most wasting population per capita. You po
  18. I'm not sure if you're laughing at me or with me. To clarify: what you wrote was what I was trying to say!
  19. Here is an article I stumbled upon today. It co-written by a new favorite of mine, Steven Levitt, co-author of Freakonomics. http://www.busrep.co.za/index.php?fArticle...&fSetId=662It adds some interesting twists to the debate.
  20. Ah, this old thread! I just remembered it and thought I'd check it out.Cool to some some new faces, not only me and SCYUKON! :PAnyways, yeah I read that January has been the second coldest January in 15 years. The only problem for me is that Sweden has had the WARMEST winter in a LONG time. We usually get around -10 to -20 celsius around jan-feb but we've been howering around 0 for the whole period, sometimes it's been as warm as 10 degrees! i think we've had about 4-5 days of snow this whole winter and never more than two days in a row, it always melted over night. So yeah, our winter has bee

  23. Christmas day without gifts is like hockey without a puck?
  24. I heard about Mr Reese this night. From the moment I read about him years ago he was one of my favourite players. Such fitting HORSE champion, rest in peace.
  25. To start off, keep in mind that this was just a meteorology professor at Stockholm university, not a climatology professor. I don't think he's done tons of research himself on the subject, but is mostly passing along what he feels is the correct scientific knowledge. Few scientist, and I doubt any, has done extensive research in all areas concerning climate change.Your first question: Does he go any further... Yes and no, remember this was a live chat and the guy probably had to pull answers out of his head. No detailed graphs and calculations. Basically what he said was "it's very hard to exp
