  1. It almost seems like villain got a little too tricky with 88 and lucked into it at the end and went for the gusto. He must have outsmarted himself. I still pay it off 100%. It would be very tough to predict that our opponent got in over his head with the hand, caught the gin river and went for the kill on the river.
  2. How fast did he push on the river? Was there any delay? Hes only pushing with complete air, a high K or a better full house. The high K is least likely I think based on his line. I think Im calling because Im just so confused here. Good players and bad players alike would have trouble making this play. Just pay it off and curse your bad luck.
  3. Yes. If you had been in late position with 3 or 4 callers your reasoning would make sense, but getting hands heads up should be your ultimate goal against weaker players whose post flop mistakes you can exploit. It doesnt always work that way, but you should be trying to get the UTG player heads up and look to take advantage of him on later streets.
  4. I fold. Its a clear value bet to me. If he were to bluff the river he would make a bet around the size of the pot. I dont think he can feel that comfortable with a smaller 2 pair hand to make that bet. Its screaming for a call. He wants you to make it easy for you to call with an A or 2 pair. I know you are getting 4 to 1 on your money, but I save those chips.
  5. Yea, its overwhelming that that would be correct. I would appreciate more feedback on the rest of the hand. Thanks.
  6. So $70, $80 would be more appropriate? And why go to Chester when Delaware Park is much nicer and only 15 minutes from there?
  7. Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. This is good. Its actually interesting seeing the different points of views on this. Pre: Clearly I was wrong here, and I dont deny it. Especially with BaseJester's point that I dont have a deep stack to do what I had intended. Flop: I guess its a pretty obvious call and thats what I thought at the time. Turn: This is where I think I made the worst mistake(ignoring playing the hand in the first place). I feel you guys are right here. Half of my reasoning to play the hand in the first place was to be able to take a pot away down the road witho
  8. This was a 1/2 NL hand at the new Parx poker room in Bensalem, Pa. Great room by the way for everybody in the tri state area. Background: I was at the table for about 1/2 hour. Im in the 7 seat. Villain is in the 4 seat. Guy to my right tells me when I first sit down to watch out for him. He plays every hand and calls a lot. He just recently lost an all in with KJ against KK on a J high flop calling all the way down. Despite that he has built his stack back up to about $300 in a short time. Im Button on this hand with 62 of spades and about $175. Obviously I dont play this hand 98%
  9. Poker is here at Parx. I was so excited and I knew I wasnt playing today. Yet during my day of driving I had to stop in and see the room. Let me tell you it is fantastic. Very big room and half of it was sectioned off as they arent allowed to use all there tables yet. I talked to a floor manager and he said that 25 tables were going while I was there. I looked at the lists and saw that about half the tables were 1/2 nl. There were 4 2/5 tables and 1 5/10 table. Also there were a few limit tables with 4/8 being the lowest game they spread. I didnt see any non holdem tables going but th
  10. Not long now. 10am opening. They had a practice session open to the public yesterday for play money. I wasnt able to go, but a friend did and he said the room is spectacular. Also, the dealers are competent. 24 tables to start, but they already have about 50 tables set up for the expansion at the end of the year. Im shooting for a Friday visit if the wait isnt crazy. Anybody else going shoot me a pm and maybe Ill see you at a table.
  11. Also, anybody coming in from far away wants a heads up on directions, eating, hotels, etc... just send me a pm. Ill be happy to assist.
  12. Everybody in and around NE Philly/Trenton NJ/Lower Bucks area get ready. Parx is opening there room on Wed. I am so excited. Anybody else planning on showing up this week? I should be heading there on Fri. most likely. I cant wait.
  13. Thanks. I do feel I jumped the gun by pushing there. Calling seems to be the best play and I can reevaluate on the flop. I appreciate the info.
  14. Forgive me, I cant seem to find the HH for some reason. $5+.50 standard STT. 3 handed. I have about 5500 in the bb and sb has about 100 or so more than me. Button is short and folds pre. Blinds are 120/240. sb raises to 720.I shove with A10. SB was aggressive but he wasnt a lunatic. Is this a bad play? Should I have made a smaller reraise? Say to 1800 or so? Ive just moved back to standard speed sngs and Im trying to get used to the slower pace. I was primarily playing the turbos and I seem to get a little lost in these types of situations. I still get antsy like in the turbos tha
  15. Yea I hope its next month. That was the initial plan. Im gonna try and sneak up to see the progress on the room one day this week.
  16. Anybody else from the northeast philly/lower bucks area? I am having a problem waiting til October for the new room to open up. With 5 kids and a 50 hour a week job its hard to take the almost 2 hour trip to AC. I cant wait for the soon to be 5 min. drive to play at Parx. I need live poker. I need it now. I am contemplating selling my first born to have the poker room open tonight. Oh well, back to online poker for me. Boooooooo.
  17. This one time I had Kings and this other guy had Aces and I didnt hit my King. Total bullshit. I literally ate the cards and cried for 3 whole hours. Then I cried again when I got home. Then I laughed and laughed and laughed about how lucky in life I am. Then I cried again cus that was a lie. Then I laughed at how stupid I was. Then I cried cus I was stupid. Then I had a bowl of frosted flakes. That made me feel better. Then I cried cus Im fat. Then I laughed cus fat ppl are funny. Then I cried cus fat ppl are only funny to everyone else. Then I felt sorry for myself. Then I ate
  18. hurry. tommy stuck in well. very bad. please help. ducks fly. eyes brown. all done.
  19. Thanks guys. You have all been real helpful. Im still not sure what I want to do but I have a lot more info about than I did a week ago. I think the DONs are my best bet if I can put up with them. I dont even know about the 9 man KOs lol. I havent been on stars in awhile. Those sound intriguing. Also, Tiburon. I found the same thing to be true about the sngs. Go above the 10s and the players become more predictable. The players are def. better but I know exactly how they play and dont have to worry about a guy calling my all ins when he has no buisness to do so ruining both our chanc
  20. I really appreciate the replies guys. Thanks. How far up the ladder do you have to go where the 9 man turbos get too sharky for a decent player? Im pretty sure I have narrowed it down to the 9 mans, the rush cash or the DONs. Would it be a bad idea to mix it up and play all of them? Play each of them 1 week at a time and mix it up so I dont get super bored. Im not sure its a good idea, but it might help me cope with the monotony.
  21. What were the stack sizes relative to the blinds? If you were shallow, you should be pushing on his raise on the turn. If you lose to the straight so be it. If you are deep, then I dont mind your play except Im calling the river.
  22. What kind of bankroll would you recommend when moving up in these? Can you get away with 20 buyins or should it be closer to the same as regular 9 mans?
  23. Thanks for the thoughts guys. Im not a very good cash player. My preflop play is much better than my flop play. I can beat the 1/2 nl games in AC but that is like saying Im the tallest midget at the fair. I have trouble winning at online any higher than the 50nl tables. I loathe the DONs. They are boring as all hell. I know I wouldnt be able to handle it. I think Im just gonna try and grind out the sngs and hope for the best. I may give the rush cash games a go and see what my results are after 10k hands or so. If it looks promising, I might do that. As an aside, does anybody know a
