  1. 18.. almost 19.been playing home games (chinese poker, a-5 draw, and omaha hi-lo) since i was about 15, and playing more poker games since i was 17.
  2. i played omaha/8 with him at bellagio and he is not much of a player. nice guy but i don't think he had ever played the game before. he scooped a few large pots with the nut high when there was no low board and i never saw him have a hand that would be a decent qualifier for a low. when he got up from the table a guy said he had played stud/8 with him and he wasn't much of a player in that game either. this isn't a jealousy post because he has obviously proven himself in the game of no limit hold'em and is a great player, but as far hi/lo games go, he has a few things to learn.
  3. as long as you don't look like a fetus, you can play anywhere in vegas. i don't know why he mentioned he turned 18 since it had no relevance to his story, but the legal gambling age is 21.
  4. the only places i've been to where i couldn't get in the casino was shreveport, la (guards at the casino door), tunica, ms (guards at casino door) and kansas city (guards checking id's before you even get on the boat.) but vegas is, by far, a completly different story. i played with a guy at the mirage who didn't look older than 15 and he played a 12 hour session. i have played at the horseshoe, golden nugget, 4 queens, plaza, bellagio, monte carlo, mirage, ballys and the mandalay bay and only got checked at the monte carlo because the guy said his manager was watching him. so i think as long
  5. i honestly can't believe how long it took for some of those old rgp posts to arise. i guess it goes to show you how many people on this forum have absolutely no idea what went on in the poker world before 2003. hopefully this forum won't turn out to be the new rgp because the poker newbies on this forum are the ones who ruined rgp in the first place.
  6. well, first of all, it depends on what form of lowball you are playing. a-5, 2-7, razz? you probably should have also stated if you were playing single or triple draw. people don't play 2-7 lowball with blinds so people didn't know what you meant when you said you got a free draw. normally you would have to pay to draw. and i've seen people draw with a 2 and 7 and hit three inside cards for a 7 low. maybe if you had a wheel it would be kind of a funny story. next time give some more info if you want to entertain anyone. for people who don't know what 2-7 draw is, this story is the equivalent
  7. so in a single table sng you just sit back until you are blinded off? the only reason he called the first two all in's was because he was pot stuck. there was no game theory to any of his calls, there was too much money in the pot. he showed poor play on his last hand by going all in trying to steal the bb instead of just raising it. he's a pretty solid player and has been around for a while. his posts on rgp range back a while and are pretty informative. you should check them out.
