  1. Mindbogglingly easy that is. Remember, adverbs modify adjectives, verbs, and other adverbs, but not nouns. And to repeat the sentiments of others, if you don't like the project, then don't read it.
  2. You haven't heard Michael Kay then, I'm guessing. He doesn't call poker, but he's certainly worse. If Sox-Yankees are on, I'll watch with the sound off.As for Norman, he doesn't bother me. I'd prefer Lederer of course, but I don't think Norman takes anything away from my viewing experience.
  3. Good post...looking forward to more. I've got to agree about the microlimits for Stud Hi/Lo on Pokerstars. A little while ago I sat at the .04/.08 table without knowing precisely how the game worked and turned $2 into $7 in a little over an hour. I haven't repeated that level of success, but it's real easy to come out ahead.Oh, and go Patriots...
  4. I use the four color deck to prevent misreading suits. It's a bit of an adjustment going to a live game though...
  5. I thought it was going to say $1000. If we do that, then smash can treat. If it's 1000 posts, there isn't much time to plan. Either way, I'm in favor.
  6. Despite my laziness, I've given it some thought. To visualize this, separate the 11 cards into two piles with pile one representing the 6 cards dealt to the players and pile two representing the 5 community cards. If the kings are randomly distributed, we can expect to find 2.18 (6/11 * 4) kings in pile one and 1.82 (5/11 * 4) kings in pile two. If your scenarios were equally likely to occur, then we have pile one averaging 2.25 kings and pile two averaging 1.75. This difference is small but significant, proving that these scanarios are not equally likely to occur. I'm just about certain tha
  7. Hmm...I'm not convinced, but I'm also too lazy to work it out.
  8. .0203% approximates 1 in 5000. Also, are these six scenarios equally likely? According to your calculations above, they are, but my instinct tells me they aren't.
  9. Same thing happened to me and it sucked. We got taken down by some maniac calling all-ins with 4-2s.
  10. What is it about monopoly that causes fist fights? I refuse to play with certain people after a few arguments nearly got out of control. Had money been on the line, I'm sure it would have gone too far.Oh, and I think this thread is dead.
  11. Fe is not in the Scabble dictionary, so a challenge would be in order. As far for the fiance thing...he're a good scrabble word for the situation: uxorious
  12. Something tells me that 93o is gaining momentum.
  13. I've never been down more than five bucks, but that's probably an exception. I would imagine most beginning players lose a decent amount when starting out, though the amounts you're losing suggest that you're playing limits above your head. Move down and see if you start winning some money.
  14. Don't forget two of my favorites:Q3 - Gay waiter (queen with a trey)J4 - Flat tire (What else is a jack for?)
  15. And another thing...If the bowl's being passed around and the action's on them, they'll always opt for the hit rather than keeping things flowing. Well, it keeps the smoking going, but inevitably further disrupts the game when in the process of taking the hit, they'll forget it's their action, bringing me back to my prior complaints. Overall though, it doesn't really bother me...unless the bowl gets spilled on my cards.
  16. I think this is my favorite part:"My favorite player is Josh Arieh(sp?) so that tells you how much I have to watch if I know their names . "Watches so much, but isn't sure if Arieh is spelled correctly...
  17. There are often stoned players at my home games. The only difference that I can discern is not in the quality of their play, but how much they can focus. "Dude, action's on you." "Your deal man." I have to say these things over and over again. It's a little frustrating...
  18. Like many of you, I absolutely hate JJ. QQ on the other hand has done very well for me.
  19. A similar hand happened to me in a pokerstars Sit N' Go. It was early on, the blinds were still 10-20, but an earlier bad beat had me down to 900 in chips. I was in late position with AA. Everyone limped into me. Even though it was early, I had good reads on two players. One, we'll call Mr. Tight, only raises pre-flop with KK or better and won't raise afterwards even with the nuts. Post flop, a minimum bet meant they have a hand, a check means nothing. The other, Mr. Aggressive will play everything. He'd done well so far, already having knocked out two players. I raised to 6x the big blind, ho
