  1. My plan on the flop call was to fold the turn unimproved.I considered the board pairing on the turn an improvement for my hand--my two J outs are clean now. My flush outs have to be heavily discounted though not completely ignored.Once I make the turn call the pot is too big to fold for one bet on the river, imo. However, this justification seems uncomfortable as I participated in making the pot so big.

  3. We should include 89 in their combined range as well.
  4. You are probably behind on the flop and took 7:1 odds to draw for 2 outs--not the right price.Their combined range contains both overpairs (SB) and things with a J.I fold facing two bets on the flop.
  5. I think this is the mistake I made in the hand. I should have put another bet in on turn.During the hand, I realized on the river that the flop action didn't jive with a flush draw so I put another bet in.
  6. I don't really know how to set it up.UTG has been aggressive on middle streets, but then open folds river several times.PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9, 9. 7. On the turn my first thought is: I have proper odds to call the turn 3-bet (14.5:1). The trouble is: I probably have to call another bet on river even UI (unless UTG calls) those odds are (~7.5:1) less than the 10.5:1 that I need for my 4 outs.Thoughts?PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q, A. 8. Don't worry about being rude.I agree with what you are saying. I can see most of this in reviewing hands after the fact. I need to be more disciplined when I play. So I figure I will post some hands and take my lumps here to drive home the point.
  9. Earlier in session I had raised pf with KK in mid position. UTG+1 (BB at the time) lead out on a flop of A34r with J3 off suit. An active player picking up lots of small pots with questionable looking bets/raises when scare cards hit. I don't recall seeing any other c/r from him. What is the best turn line? check behind, b/f?Once I called the turn raise putting him on air, is the river call correct?PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 7, 8. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, Hero calls, 2 fold
  10. This sounds sort of familiar to my experience. If I am playing a tight game, I end up watching worse hands/plays build chips stacks other than mine. Meanwhile, my stack is losing ground to both the blinds and average stack. My emotions drift toward jealousy or frustration. Eventually, I get into some dumb situation and push too hard too late in a hand or against the wrong player and convince myself that my tight table image will push others out.My results started to change when I got more disciplined about having a game plan for the whole tourney. Including when to play tight, when to open
  11. I would complete on 3rd and lead 4th. I think you get value from him drawing to a weaker hand.
  12. His range is my problem in his hand. I can't rule out a 2, especially when he 3-bets the flop. The preflop 3-bettor with position goes quiet, but didn't fold to my flop raise.I suppose the third player in the hand is more reason to raise the turn, even though I think BB is waking up with a 2.At the time I thought the third player was giving me odds to draw.
  13. I'm actually feeling better.A K is good vs. AA (Kings full of Tens vs. Aces Up)A K is good vs. TT (Kings full of Tens vs. Tens full of Kings)There are no more K vs. KKEdit: Aww crap! I got re-leveled
  14. because I forgot to table my T -- too much typing not enough thinking
  15. This was my first orbit and I didn't have any info to help with ranges. What BB hands call two cold preflop and like this flop?I figure spades, middle pairs, monsters, suited A2, connectors with including T or crazy blind defenders. The flop 3-bet felt like a set.So with the K on the turn I it looks like four outs to the best hand. Except MP2 is still in the hand with likely AK+ (should he have folded AK--barring AKspades--facing two on the flop). I guess am thinking my K outs are either dirty (only good for split pot) or some are in his hand.Does the turn K make the remaining twos hidden
  16. I am trying to play more hands in position.Thoughts on the flop raise?I couldn't find the fold button on the turn when the K hit, should be looking for it?Fold the river unimproved? I don't think the third spade made anyone's hand here.PokerStars 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (10 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K, T. 3 folds, Hero raises, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Button 3-bets, 1 fold, BB calls, Hero calls, MP2 calls.Flop: (12.50 SB) T, 2, 2(4 players)BB bets, Hero raises, MP2 calls, Button calls, BB 3-bets, Hero calls, MP2 calls, B
  17. What's the idea behind the turn bet?Should it be b/f? or are 5 outs enough to continue?
  18. Flop peel is probably okay.On the turn your outs are cut down significantly as the board gets coordinated.c/f turn.
  19. Yuk!All might not be lost. This looks like a good spot for a post-oak bluff. Bet an amount you can afford to represent a Jack trying get some value. If he has a seven you could pick it up. Your line so far makes sense for a Jack so the story holds together. If he comes over the top, move on.

  21. Seems like 2/8 people I play against use this approach. Sometimes they hit and do great. On average, I'm sure they lose money.Unless he has Jedi mind trick like powers to make his opponents give up their money he won't ever recover the losses on the junk hands that miss.

  23. 9-Handed, LHE, 6-12Kind of a strange table swings from tight to loose every couple of rounds. Lots of aggressive play preflop and on the flop.Button appears to be TAG. My image is tight and maybe weak-tight post flop, I just laid down a flop continuation bet when it came two bets back to me.Preflop: Hero is CO with , . 3 folds, MP2 calls, Hero raises, Button 3-bets,2 folds, MP2 calls, Hero calls.Flop: (10.3 SB) , , (3 players)MP2 checks, Hero checks, Button bets, 1 folds, Hero calls.Turn: (6.2 BB) (2 players)Hero checks, Button bets, Hero?Should I have peeled on the flop? What should I do
