  1. You definitely should not slowplay it. I'd do a feeler bet about 3xBB on the flop. If he calls, then you should most likely put him on a flush. If he raises then you should most likely fold because you said they were extremely tight and they would probably have a higher flush. That doesn't make much sense, but I understand why you did it. You flopped a flush and when another club fell you got scared he had a higher and wanted to take the pot right there. I've done the same thing before and lost all my money (except in mine the board paired and i feared a full house, which the guy did hav
  2. Just wondering... are there any online sites that offer draw poker? or is it an extinct online poker game?
  3. I have a question about implied odds, heres the example:in a NL Hold'em tourny, heads-up.Me: 4,000$ in chips, 2nd to act.Opponent: 2,000$ in chips, 1st to act.300$ in the pot pre-flop. I have 67 and my opponent has K4. Flop is K48.My opponent bets 150$. The odds are 10 to 1 against me hitting my inside straight. The pot is laying me 3 to 1. If I hit my straight, im going to put him all-in. So thats 2,000/150. The real pot is laying me 13 to 1 and I should call the 150$ bet.Is this the correct method to justify a call due to implied odds?
  4. Wow, thats horrible. You didn' t do anything wrong either. Kinda makes you wonder if he was cheating.
  5. write a book about bad beats you've experienced in your lifetime that nobody gives a crap about.
  6. Yeah i know how you feel. You just have to realize that playing against fish will profit you in the long run. And thats really what kept me motivated after my bad beats. Don't get frustrated, playing against weaker players will pay off.
  7. I was reading the no-limit hold'em section of phil hellmuth's How To Play Poker Like the Pro's and it seemed to be teaching really tight play. Screw me if im wrong, but isn't aggressive play the way to go? I don't see how you could win 9 WSOP events by playing the way he described in his book.
  8. I wouldn't check. I've made an Ace-high flush on the flop before and checked it. The turn card paired the board and I ended up losing to a full house. It kinda hit me back into reality. I thought i had made the nut, but i didn't. If it were me, i would bet around pot size.
  9. I recently read an article by Chris Ferguson about limping in. He said he never limps in, he either raises the blinds or folds!! Any opinions on this?
  10. if tells are overrated, i dont know how to play poker. Well, then you don't know how to play poker. Smasharoo is 100% correct on this.
  11. haha no. I actually don't like the guy and I hate the crew, but thats off topic. I was wondering the same thing as dirsan a couple months ago and came across his article on the internet. Although i may not like him, i agree with what he said and it helped me out a little. Just trying to help.
  12. I think it was correct to fold.I've always thought drawing to a lower straight means you're drawing dead. And it would be reasonable to put him on something like KJ, AJ, or JJ because of the pre-flop raise. I would have folded.
  13. Dutch Boyd wrote a really informative article on betting. Here's the link.http://www.rakefree.com/faq1.htm#faqI highly recommend you read it.
  14. I need some help on bluffing. Does anyone know any general rules for bluffing? More speciffically... when to do it and and how much we should bet?
