Dirk17 0
Being from Philly orginally I think this is great!! However it puts them over the cap and more than likly Roenick is gone now in a trade. Kind of bittersweet though if JR really is the one to go.

mulhs82 2
I'm ever so bitter. The avs are one of my two teams. First Foote, now Forsberg.... frustrationg sigh!Nothing against Colorado, but they were in a bad way salary wise once the new CBA was agreed upon. But now the Flyers are most likely giving up JR. The rumor is a trade to LA. There is a press conference scheduled for 10 AM EST. So I'll let you know what happens as soon as I find out.
mulhs82 2
Nothing new on the Roenick front, but there will probably be a deal down by the end of the day. There are about 6 teams that are in the running. Which teams I have no idea.
ajs510 122
Roenick himself has said he's already out the door. The most likely trade candidate is the LA Kings. Probably be done by the end of the week. Who they're trading him for, I have no idea, but since it's a salary move they won't get very much back for him. Probably a lower-tier player and a draft pick.

ajs510 122
Not necessarily, Roenick's salary for the coming season would be around 4-5 million, and the Flyers are only 2.5 (or so) over the cap. They could make a trade for a quality player, but I agree that they'll probably take a draft pick or two and use the $$$ on the still-saturated free agent market.

The Avs are my team and this totally sucks! I think the new salary cap era is going to expose Pierre Lacroix as a GM that is only capable of buliding a team when he has boatloads of money to throw around. I read an article in the Denver Post that said his offers to both Foote and Forsberg included only $1.5 mil in the first year of each contract. No wonder they left. And the worst thing is that after Foote signed with Columbus, Lacroix STILL only offered Forsberg $1.5 mil in the first year of the contract. WTF?? Before the salary cap, Lacroix was a mad genius that could orchestrate awesome deals. Now he's just a guy that doens't know how to deal with a budget. As I said before....ARRRGGGGHH!!!!!On the bright side of things, at least we signed Turgeon and Brisebois to replace them (sw).
