worth a slow play?

Recommended Posts

Ok, blinds are 50/100. 8 k guaranteed tournament at Absolute poker. I have about 4000 chips and average is about 2900. I'm second to act and i raise my KK to 300. The BB and UTG call with 100 chips already in the pot. There is 950 chips in the pot. The flop comes KJ9 rainbow. BB and UTG check. I bet 300 and both call. 1850 chips in the pot. Turn comes 8 of clubs (the second club). I figure the pot is big enough now and when they check to me again I bet 1000 and take it down. I am happy with my decision. Does anyone think it would have been better to milk more chips out of the other two opponents?

Probably the right play since thier were some outside straight draws out there...i mean what are the odds of them catchin the straight on yah? haha online you always have to worry about the straight

No, way too many drawsbasically you can figure them for hitting about 24% if they have different str8 draws, and add another 20% if one of them picked up a flush draw. (Note: these numbers are just estimates) So they could still have about a 33% chance of rivering you. Good bet.

You definitely played it right. Too many draws out there to warrant a further slowplay.EDIT: truthfully, as Caveman said, I might've bet bigger on the flop to try and take it down right there...had the fourth card to the straight come on the turn, it's quite possible you would've been kicking yourself if someone had hit their inside straight (Though why they'd call with just that is another story)
