fjl2nd 0
So, how does everyone go about reading poker books? Do you just soak in the information or what? I am looking for some useful tips. I have already read HoH's like 8 times each and keep going back for more.(I really love the books) I also read a couple Sklanksy books but I am trouble getting those - he seems boring to me.Does anyone take notes as they read? I am considering doing that with some of the books on Limit Holdem and whatnot. Any help would be appreciated.
Dan The Man 0
What I've been doing for a while is reading a new book all the way through the first time, then rereading it after a while and taking notes. That's a tip I got from a professor once because if you try to take notes the first time you read something you'll probably end up highlighting too much. I type key parts on a Word document and note what page it came from. Then if I want to brush up on a particular subject without reading a whole book I just look over the notes.
