Props When Playing 2-7 Td

Recommended Posts

In DN's blog from 10-27-05 he describes the rules for playing props. DN describes the props for flop and stud games just fine. He describes the props for triple draw like this:For triple draw, since there are no flops or up cards the props are a little bit different:JJ pay $1000QQ pay $2000KK pay $3000AA pay $4000AK suited pays $2000 ($3000 if it's your suit)AQ suited pays $2000 ($3000 if it's your suit)KQ suited pays $2000 ($3000 if it's your suit)49+ points in hand pays $200051+ points in hand pays $300053+ points in hand pays $4000Trips in hand pays $5000Straight in hand pays $5000Color in hand pays $2000 (all red cards or all black cards)Flush in hand pays $7000Full House in hand pays $10,000Four of a kind in hand pays $15,000Straight Flush in hand pays $30,000A Pat 8 in hand pays $10,000 (five cards 8 or lower with no striaght or flush)A Pat 7 in hand pays $20,000 (five cards 7 or lower with no straight orflush)Jack of your suit pays $1000 (also called an activator)What DN doesnt say is how you show these hands to get paid for them. What if you have 234JJ? You want to continue to play the hand so you'd have to discard the two jacks. Can you get paid for them? The same situation occurs when you have a hand like 72222. You would want your 4-of-a-kind prop, but in certain situations you would want to draw three since none of your opponents can make a 7. Some hands you would fold outright, like 53+ points in hand. But you cant show it right away since you dont want to interfere with the players who are playing the hand. Do you just declare that you have folded and wait for the end of the hand to show? If this is the case, what happens when they need to reshuffle the mucked cards because they have run out?

When playing 2-7, Jacks, Queens, Kings, and Aces are not important so if you have a Jack, you just show it. If you have a pair of KK, you just show them right away. The only time you don't show is when you have a flush, 50 points, or any five card hand. If you had a hand like 7-7-7, you would either keep it to the side till the end of the hand, or show someone who is out of the hand.
