fourm newbie player profile

Recommended Posts

Hi just signed up and thought id introduce my self with a player profile of my self:Tournament Accomplishments:1st place in no limit crazy pineapple tournamentTotal tournament earnings: $280Cash Games: I usually play .25/.50 so that might be 'change games' but I plan on to move up to 50./1 when I work up my innital $50 dollar deposit on UBBest Game: Omaha 8, I picked it up and just comes natural to me, I know alot of people say it is a very luck based game but i disagree, it takes alot of hand reading ablity.Worst Game: Pot Limit Omaha, im trying to get better at it but just seems that when I flop a good hand someone turns or rivers a better, but I will work on it.Strengths: I think my strength is being able to put people on hands, but i dunno i just might be lucky, but I am usually pretty close to what I think they have.Weakness: I was thinking about putting this at worst game but I didn't, my weakness is tourments, ive played in limited ammount of them and other than my one break though I usually gamble to early and go bust fast.Notes: I am green and rough around the edges but have it in my bones now and I have a personaltiy with whatever I do I want to do what the best I can.

I have heard many people say how lucky you have to be, and it is a river game and the like. I have been reading Smash's 50-1000 and he seems to be a very talented player, I am thinking of doing a similar thing on UB with O8 maybe 25-100 I think would be a nice place to start out. TY for the kind welcome also.A2

i don't mean to advertise my own posts, but since you have an interest in O8, i figured this might help you. a while ago, i wrote an extensive beginner's guide to O8, and the second part in particular covers some more advanced topics that you might find helpful as well. it applies to both FL and PL omaha hi/lo, and you might find some concepts (particularly freerolling and pot manipulation) applicable to PL omaha hi as well.part 1: http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...opic.php?t=3312part 2: http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...opic.php?t=3391hope this helps, aseem

O8 is not a game of luck. Holdem has much more luck involved. I hope you were drinking when you won that tournament becuase thats the only way I could imagine playing NL crazy pineapple. Welcome to the forum and sign up for the poker forum challenge. We need to win that.

Welcome to the board suited, i'm new myself so i figure i sould follow your lead and figure i should write a little profile about myself.Tournament accomplishments:I have a few but the most notable are a 1st place in a 10+1 multi table at pokerroom. I also have a 4th and 7th place. All of these within the last 3 weeks.Total tourny earnings: Right about $700Cash games: I can usually be found playing .50/1 limit on pokerroom.Best game: I think my best game is no limit holdem. Its where i started and i still feel like its my best game. I have been doing very well in multi table tournaments as of late.Worst game: Omaha hi/lo. Just plain horrible, can't explain it. Strengths: reading opponents weakness: bankroll management and tilt control. Its a bad combo to have, i started cashing out down to $100 to try and keep myself from playing out of my limits, seems to be working.Final Notes: I am still pretty young. I'm only 18. I realize i have alot to learn. I am a student of the game and constantly am getting better.

akishore I really enjoyed your beginners guide to omaha. I've primarily played hold em but I'm currently trying to learn omaha by playing online with play money and your posts were helpful.
