Hmmmmm, I don't know about this hand. I rarely raise with a weak ace from that position. Should I? I guess sometimes I'll raise with A9 or better in early to mid position. It's borderline though for me. It's like raising with AJ or 99 from first position in a full ring game. Short handed, it depends on my table image at the moment usually for me.Secondly, the turn checkraise is kind of read dependent on the player. If he hit his two pair, you have a lot of outs to pair the board, to either win the pot, or split. Also, if the player in the big blind is one who will check raise with a combination Straight draw/flush draw, your fold here is a huge mistake.I don't think this fold is that cut and dry.Thoughts?

I don't think he has two pair very often. He 3-bet preflop and checked the flop. This is a pretty suspiscious play. Just considering his flop 3-bet, possible hands that could have two pairs now are AK, AJ, KJ, and maybe A7s. But I don't see why he would have checked the flop with any of these.

check raising trapping a player in between on the expensive streets is almost always signalling a hand of strength at these levels. cant see anyway your hand is good here. Raising A 8 from the cutoff is ok depending on the table.
