online to b&m conversion for limits

Recommended Posts

For those of you who have played a bit higher in B&M settings, I am curious about your realistic appraisal of how certain live limits are comparable to certain online limits. Obviously, everyone's mileage on this will vary, but I think this is an interesting question for the general membership with have played a fair amount of both live and online games. For instance, a $10-$20 live LHE game = $3-$6 online LHE or something else?Feel free to offer your takes on this for limit and no-limit games, if there are differences by area (I know that CA players have a reputation for being gamble-monkeys, while AC players are reputed to be sonciderably more passive on the whole), etc.. If you play games other than HE, then any comparisons you have there would be interesting as well.Looking forward to seeing the range of opinion on this.

AC is filled with gamble monkies galore on weekends. I'd say that if you are consistently beating 2/4 online, you can hold your own at pretty much any low limit table up to possibly 10-20. I've only played up to 4-8 because that's where my bankroll is at, but I've watched pink game at the Trop and wasn't impressed. The key is to avoid tables fill with old AC grinders.

One of the answers is "it depends" and this is especially true in NL vs Limit.NL is more of a 3d situation where limit is more 2d.I am a NL player that plays live alot and it is not nearly the same switchover $1 to $1, from Live to Online. Alot of your reads emotions are lost from the Live to Online BUT it is easier to track hands played and betting patterns online.

well, obviously it depends on the game, but in my personal experience with 10-20 LHE in the southern Ontario region, it plays worse than 3-6 online. probably more like 2-4. and if it gets shorthanded, more like 1-2 6max.
i play at the same casinos as blaze, usually 5-10 LHE, and its poop, and i would compare it with 1-2 and 2-4 online.havent played 5-10 online yet, so not sure.2-5NL live plays like .10/.20 online.. hahah seriously.

I play 5/10 and 10/20 online. At casino I have played 10/20 up to 20/40 and it seems to be about the same as thr 5/10 online. 4/8 games live are about equal to 1/2 online or even less. Good luck

good to the borgota on any weekend sit 10/20 and you will scratch you head trying to figure out some of the plays. don't bother they just suck sometimes...the 2/5 NLHM 500 max can be just a buffet...I have seen a big difference in some of the college kids. the quality of play has gone up...One guy did make a good point to stay away from the old grinders they are rocks on the limit tables and will be really hard to get any cash from. You can beat them but there is an easier game somewhere else.I would compare 10/20 to a 3/6 online for limit....you play so many more hands.
