what hand do i have? help

Recommended Posts

I have the hardest time figuring out what hands my opponents may hold. Anyone know of any books or sites that play the game "what hand do i have?" You know...it gives you a summary of the hand and then asks the question. Tells you the answer and explains the reasoning. Smash did this once in his blog....Thanks for the help.

Since Ron and DNA gave you the serious response, I will chime in with the humorous response.Practice and time. I started playing about 18 months ago and was THE worst. Before all the expected flaming begins I am NOT claiming to be great, good or any other such thing.I am ONLY sure that I am a better player than I was, that is all.I now have become pretty good at looking at the board and figuring out within a couple of possible hands what the other person has both online and in a B&M casino. Most of the time the clues are right there in front of you and that will come after playing many, many hands and as is the case for me losing lots, and lots of money.I certainly do not recommend the losing lots of dough part if you can help it, and if you can let me know how so I can step in to my time machine and do it all over again. After some time it will become like a sixth sense and you will make the correct read and go damn I knew exactly what he had.One quick example, I was in AC 2 weeks ago playing NL and I was out of the hand so I was probably better able to pay atttention and get a read. This guy that had been playing all kinds of goofy crap and winning raised UTG and had about 4 callers. The flop came 7, 10, Jack.Long story short he made a ton of money on that hand. Before he ever turned over his cards after the hand was done I said he has 8, 9 suited or unsuited but he has 8,9.How did I put him on that exact hand, which he was shocked that I called? He had been playing weird hands and I knew his patterns, after the flop when he seemed to get stronger I figured that he wanted to take the blinds since he had a speculative hand. He got his perfect flop and you could tell by the betting. Now I don't know if I had been in the hand if I would have picked up on this as readily but I knew with almost certainty, that was the hand he had.Just keep playing you will figure it out.Hope that helps.

Majorleag, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

DNA and Ron, I would have been truly and deeply disappointed if I had not received such an insightful response as you have given here.Keep up the good work, and don't go changing!A voice of reason and sanity in this otherwise chaotic world.

Buy a crystal ball. The crystal ball must be polished well. I can't tell you what you should polish it with because I would be hunted down and Killed for giving out this information. I may have said too much already.
