RDog 0
Okay, so I was down to the final 2 of the Bodog 25K. I had about a 3 to 2 chip lead. The other guy kept pushing big pre-flop taking the blinds and antes. I was BB with K8s. He put in a little more than double the blind, I called. The flop comes 7 6 5, 1 spade. Thinking he was probably on 2 overcards, I pushed all in. Rather have him have to make the decision to put all his chips in than have to make a decision when he bets. He calls and flips over AA. River comes a 4. Tournament over. A couple of the railbirds gave me a hard time for pushing. Obviously I wouldn't have pushed it in if I had any clue he might have aces. It worked out well but still trying to figure out if it was the right thing given the hands I had put him on and the hands he might have to put me on. Thoughts?
joeltebbutt 0
When you say he has been pushing big pre-flop what size were his bets normally because if he normally puts out a big bet then a small bet would have me very worried.

RDog 0
Usually 3 to 4 times the BB, occasional all in. I had a little over 300k chips at the time and I believe blinds at the time were 5k, 10k. This bet wasn't drastically different, because I do believe it was 2.5 to 3 times the BB. RDog 0
Need to know blinds and chip stacks also.I think starting that hand I had 320k or so and he had about 240k with blinds 5, 10k and ante of 1 or 2k.
lboarts 0
Knowing that he was pushing pf quite a bit, I think you played the hand well. Because he didn't vary his bet pf, he played the hand well also.I've been working quite a bit on my HU game, as a series of 2nds in MTTs prompted me to do so. I used to be overly aggresive, especially when I had the lead. Win one race and its over, was my mentality. Lately I've been excercising a tad more patience when playing HU, but I'm still aggressive. I think in this situation I would've pushed all in as well. Putting your opponent to big decisions is very important in HU play, and this was an ideal situation to do that. I'm assuming when you pushed in you were anticipating a fold by him, but in the off chance you do get called you still have outs to win the hand. Well played by both parties, IMHO.
