AmScray 355
"Chinese businessmen" is a derogatory shorthand. They prefer to be called Oriental Entrepreneurs.

Vegas Knights 56
Is Vegas profiting again? Seems a weird time for them to want to open a gigantic resort in Vegas I've read the Asian company building it (Genting) is targeting Chinese tourists who now have the disposable income to travel. And of course gambling is practically the national pastime over there.
Vegas Knights 56
They prefer to be called Oriental Entrepreneurs. I like the nickname Bob Stupak (The Polish Maverick) gave Johnny Chan - "The Orient Express". Stupak was the guy who put the astronaut and the space station (shaped like a roulette wheel) on the front of his hotel. He was a pretty good poker player too. He had a standing offer at his hotel where he would play anyone heads up for 10,000 cash. Here's a picture of his old hotel (notice the spaceman outside the roulette shaped space station). https://encrypted-tb...Yne3ZvcEsZ195OQ
BigDMcGee 3,353
Knowing Stupak's level of ethics, I'd only take that offer if I got to pick the dealer, deck and poker room do it in. No way I would trust his dealers and decks.

Vegas Knights 56
Well it looks like they finally started the project a couple months ago. Even competitor Steve Wynn was at the ground breaking. Only 3 years to go! http://www.reviewjou...world-las-vegas

Vegas Knights 56
Looks like they are building yet another Asian themed hotel/casino in Vegas different from the one mentioned above. This other one will be called the Lucky Dragon. It will be smaller, only 10 stories, but it will have a 2 1/2 story glass dragon above the casino floor. The casino floor will have 37 gaming tables but it will be different because 3/4 of the tables will be baccarat. Watch out Vegas the Asians are coming. The Lucky Dragon will be on Sahara Ave. between the Strip and Interstate 5. Btw, the hotel pictured in post #1 which is located on the site of the old Stardust is scheduled to be completed in 2019. Vegas Knights 56
Here's an update on Resorts World under construction in Vegas on the site of the old Stardust. A good view of it is at the 3:10 mark of this video: The vlogger said baccarat is going to be the main game. I don't know? We know what happened to the Lucky Dragon. The owner of the place is Genting Corp. The same people that withheld Ivey's payment in England. Have a feeling you won't be seeing him over there when it's done. Here's a promo video done on what the property should look like when finished:

Here's a promo video done on what the property should look like when finished: Well they say better late than never and it looks like the huge Resorts World is going to open in about 2 months on June 24 on the site of the old Stardust property. If you scroll down about 1/2 way on the below link you can get a glimpse of the poker room they will have which supposedly will have about 30 poker tables. Vegas Knights 56
Well the 4.3 billion Resorts World has finally opened (only took 7 years). The Trooper has said the poker room is nice and the chairs are comfortable. He said the poker tables are small though. He also said the room had about 80% regs but that's probably to be expected with the regulars checking out the new room in town. It will probably take a month or two before the true character of the room shows itself. As far as the property itself, the below video starting at the 1:23 mark probably does the best job of showing the essence of the interior.
