The Course Walked in the H.O.R.S.E. Championship; Ron "Grumpy" Ware On ShowPosted 5 minutes ago by thkcduckworth• Level 8 Another day in the halls of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino has come to a close for the 2011 World Series of Poker with the Event #37: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship and its remaining players bagging their chips for the evening. Following the numbers set in the previous mixed game championships, many were sceptical of the number that would be attracted to one of the final big buy-in events of the series. Although we didn't surpass the number set last year, this year's field fell just one shy as 240 players took to the felt. Not too many eliminations were expected today, but nearly sixty players found themselves on the rail with Ron "Grumpy" Ware sitting atop with an amassed 122,300 in chips. Of the two other players (that we are aware of) that sit in the six-figure club was also located on Ware's table with Dusty Leary bagging 114,000 ahead of Eugene Katchalov (101,600). Daniel Negreanu (99,900) Tom Koral (98,400), Barry Greenstein (86,900), Chris Tryba (84,400) and Robert Mizrachi (75,400) are just a few more of the notables possessing an ample amount of chips. With a $609,130 first prize and coveted gold bracelet on the line, the short stacks of Mike Matusow, Mickey Appleman, Frank Kassela and David Baker cannot be ignored as anything can happen over the next two days. The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be back on the floor tomorrow from 2:30 p.m. PDT providing continuous live updates as we aim to play down until just a final table of eight remain in Event #37: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. ChampionshipRead more: http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/20...e-championship/

Was this discussed anywhere? I'd be pissed also if I was possibly involved in my last hand of the tournament and a player not even in the hand is trying to influence the floorman's decision. I haven't played many live limit tourneys, but this happens in cash games all the time. Usually it happens following the turn though when the betting amount is raised which makes it kind of fishy that this happened after the flop. The decision that the floorman made is usually always what happens in cash games. I haven't ever thought of it as an angle shoot, but now that Daniel brings attention to it, it sounds like it can definitely be an angle shoot. I still don't think Daniel should be trying to affect the floorman's decision when he isn't in the hand though. What does everyone else think? So without being there and knowing the full situation, I agree that it could possibly be an angle shoot, but it is really hard to prove so Daniel shouldn't be saying anything since he isn't in the hand imo. From pokernews: Hold'emA big controversy has just developed in front of the PokerNews blogging desk between Daniel Negreanu, Michael Binger and the floor staff. The action started with a preflop raise to 6,000 only to have Michael Binger three-bet to 9,000 next to act. The blinds passed and the preflop raiser made the call before checking the Kd6d8c flop. Binger tossed out a bet of 1,500 only to have his opponent insta-raise to 3,000.This is where the problem started. With the limits at 3,000-6,000, Binger's bet was half the amount it should have been, and with his opponent splashing out what seemed like a raise, Tournament Director Robbie Thompson was called over to solve the dispute.Negreanu and Binger began disputing what action should occur. Negreanu's argument was that it was the check-raisers intention to raise and therefore should be bound to a raise of 6,000 once Binger completed the full bet amount. As Negreanu and Binger's debate became more heated, Binger spat out, "Shut your god-damn mouth! It's my tournament life that is on the line" as Negreanu argued that it could be an angle shoot betting half-bets as you could see what the intention of the other player was.It was there that Negreanu went back into his shell as he let Thompson rule that Binger's half-bet would be made a full bet and the intention to raise would be deemed to be just a call."You have to throw a god-damn scene don't you!" added Binger who was a little enraged that Negreanu was getting involved in a hand that really didn't involve him.As the dealer dealt the 5c on the turn, Binger's opponent bet out 6,000 and Binger went into the tank for over four minutes as he had just 18,000 in chips remaining."I wanna know what's going to happen when the hand is over?" asked Binger to Thompson."If I've gotta take a penalty and blind out, it is going to change the whole hand." continued Binger."There will be no penalty, just a warning" answered Thompson.Another minute went by before Binger angled his cards at the muck."I'm sorry!" stated Negreanu to Binger as both players shook hands."It was just clear cut to me!" returned Binger."Wasn't clean to me" jibbed Negreanu."Are we good here?" asked Thompson as both players nodded."Just throw them out to be safe!" arked one player on the table.Read more: http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/20...p/day2/?page=11

I would agree if it was a cash game, but IMO during a tourney all players have an obligation to speak up if you think an error has been made to protect the entire field. Not saying that Daniel was right or wrong, but he definitely has a right to state his opinion.
